Remember when Stone stole the Daytona? Then Crockett steals the Testarossa at the end of the series. I guess it’s a thing.4 points

The sequel to that article, Tubbs' pilot clothes (or at least the gray suit blazer + mismatched pants): https://bamfstyle.com/2021/09/19/miami-vice-tubbs-pilot-dove-gray-db-jacket/3 points

I didn’t like the redesign either. They were moving away for the more angular elements of the 70’s and 80’s designs to more curves around the edges. The same happened to the 308/328 when they replaced it with the 348. The minor 328 update did some of this as well. The most extreme example of this, not by Ferrari, was the Lotus Esprit. It went from an absolute wedge of a design by Giorgetto Giugiaro to the curvy lines of Peter Steven’s in the redesign.3 points

F1 driver Gerard Bergers’s long lost Ferrari found. Been hiding in Japan. Wonder how many secret cars are stashed out there? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13153557/F1-star-Gerhard-Bergers-350-000-Ferrari-stolen-San-Marino-Grand-Prix-28-years-ago-police-investigation.html2 points

Step aside, cool May the 4th for Star Wars meme! It's a relatively new thing, running for its 11th year, and I actually haven't noticed it before this year, but congratulations everybody on the 305 day / Miami day! Because it's March the 5th - get it? 305day.com Here is one way to celebrate - two local small chain restaurants, Coyo Taco famous for their tacos and Islas Canarias famous for their croquetas, partnered to make a taco-croqueta mash-up starting today and through the end of March. I did have a delicious croqueta sandwich before (at Tinta Y Cafe in Coral Gables), but this is something new to try! https://www.timeout.com/miami/news/behold-the-croquetaco-0223241 point

"Stand By Me" - My rating (A) A coming of age tale based on the semi autobiographical novel “The Body” by Stephen King and authentically written by Raynold Gideon and Bruce Evans. Director Rob Reiner directs it with a light touch of sentimentality. A well observed and executed film.1 point

I wanted a flat sole for that shoe but they didn't have anything that wasn't a sneaker flat sole, like really thick sole. Didn't like it. Anyway, I am an older person.1 point

Currently going through the 70s crime drama Starsky and Hutch. As I’ve stated before, there’s some definite tie-ins between it and MV…as Michael Mann wrote several episodes of S&H, Paul Michael Glaser & David Soul later directed episodes of MV, and the like-brothers type friendship between each show’s main stars has been compared before. Tonight I’m watching a S&H episode from Season 3 called “Quadromania” (1978). It happens to guest star a young Philip Michael Thomas, as a cab company manager who wants to be a radio DJ …not only that, but Anthony Yerkovitch wrote this episode! It’s a wild, creepy episode about a psychotic serial killer who dresses up in bizarre disguises, and…targets cabbies!1 point

I really love these episodes with future Miami Vice connections. Here's a trailer I made for that very episode a couple of months ago:1 point

I’ve mentioned this before, but my town has one of the oldest, historic theaters in the central U.S. still operating. It was built in 1931, and it has been restored & maintained as the art deco masterpiece it is! The entire thing (including the bathrooms) is just like it was when it first opened in 31. Certain months out of the year, every Thursday night is classic movie night…it’s only $5 a ticket, and there’s the best popcorn ever, candy & snacks, soda, beer & even wine. We have a more modern B&B theater in town as well…but, the old Fox Theater is my favorite! This last Thursday night they showed an amazing classic film…Sunset Boulevard (1950)! I hadn’t seen this film in years, and it was really cool to see it on the big screen. It’s an amazing delve into the tragic realities of Hollywood, and how some people lose themselves within the false fantasy of ‘tinsel town’. A struggling screenwriter encounters a strange, somewhat mentally unstable, former actress…who had been a huge star in the silent film days, but hadn’t made a movie in decades. She lives in her own bizarre fantasy world within the walls of her old mansion, but is determined to have her script she’s been writing for years made into a movie…and she would star & this would be her comeback. Not only that, but she is bound & determined that famous director Cecil B. Demille (who appears as himself) will direct it. However, as the writer finds himself caught up in the actress’s twisted “fairytale”…including living off her money, things begin to fall apart and everyone’s fantasies crumble, as the harsh realities of the real Hollywood & aging make ‘themselves’ cruelly known…ultimately forcing the writer & actress into self examination, self loathing, and eventually spiraling everything & everyone into inevitable tragic events. A captivating & realistic plot, powerhouse cast, superb performances by everyone—but especially Gloria Swanson, amazing sets & locations, etc…Sunset Boulevard was a dark & fascinating noir that ripped open the Hollywood facade, and laid bare the souls & falsities of the characters within.1 point
