  5. Every time I see flamingos I always think of MV. I have some flamingo sheets, and I recently got this. I realize this shirt isn’t something worn on the show, and is made in Hawaii…but it still “feels” like MV to me! It’s a little early to start wearing it where I’m at , but it’ll definitely be awesome this summer. I’ll probably wear it when watching a few episodes to celebrate the 40th anniversary. For those going to that event, hope it’s fun! But, with all the drama & conflict that has unfortunately “plagued” it…I was wondering if a certain person, that was supposedly part of the planning, was involved with causing the problems? Well, in the past few days it was confirmed on the FB page for the event. He was stated as one of the main instigators. For those who remember him (RB) on the original .org site…obviously some things/people don’t change! But, hope everyone enjoys this coming summer & the joy of having MV for the past 40 years—and looking forward to 40 more!

  6. I don’t have a lot to add, but I just saw PMT on the Tonight Show in 1985. It was apparently just after the release of his first album Living the Book of my Life. He had a lot of grand ambitions as explained to Johnny, including his goals for the EGOT, though he didn’t use that term in the show. He also mentioned becoming a billionaire to help humanity. Not a long segment really.

  8. Correct! Catherine Deneuve is so beautiful, but then you're exposed more and more to her dark side and she gradually becomes less and less attractive...

  11. Correct! It is Lynn Whitfield @ViceFanMan - in a scene with Danny Glover. She is one of my favourite guest stars and "Bought and Paid For" is definitely in my top 10 episodes overall. So Good.

  12. Would have worked any time from late S1 on and actually describes a few more episodes. We might have gotten a good Trudy and Gina episode out of it, too.

  17. I know it’s been said — but this is sublime and would have worked in any Season 1 or Season 2 episode. Released in late October 1984. Henley’s bandmate Glenn Frey of course was featured heavily in Miami Vice — in four episodes. Don Henley didn’t appear till the 4th Season in the fall of 1987. He only had the one song feature in Miami Vice I believe. The Eagles had none.

  20. Evan ... What can I say ... It is one of my favorite episode from the show ... Love it ...

  21. Evan is definitely one of the best episodes on the whole show. The writing, the direction and the acting are all notch, but the gay angle is just the icing on the cake in making it a special episode imo. Okay maybe they could've used some other conflict but the gay angle was a pretty strong source of turmoil for these characters. They needed something that would cause Crockett and Evan to be sufficiently ashamed of their actions(or lack of action in Crockett's case) and for Evan to be haunted enough that he'd be suicidal or "catch a bullet" on the job. Then at the end, Evan redeems himself by taking a bullet for his old friend but Crockett is left hanging. Will he carry on the cycle of self-hatred or will he forgive himself? It's pretty ingenious. So considering we got two important characters who are tortured by their treatment of their gay friend. That's a favourable portrayal of homosexuality by 80s standards I think.

  22. I actually think God's Work contains more of what people were trying to find in Evan. Although that episode is very much inferior.
