I’ve never seen Dexter, but that photo is not from the LA area or even California. Wood piles are not used for docks on the west coast because the tidal bore is too large. Concrete piles with floating docks going up and down along them are the standard. The tidal range can be as high as 6-7 feet at times and the wood piles with docks fixed to them just wouldn’t work.

Today we wish a very Happy Birthday to one of the actors of our favorite show, Miami Vice, .................. John Diehl! He played Larry Zito. We enjoyed him in all the episodes with his partner, Switek! Have a great Birthday, John!

Thanks! no wonder it doesn't feel and look like Miami at times. I am still waiting to see the Cape Florida Light, there was scene where Dexter was going to meet a serial killer there but they cancelled. So annoying

@MichaelAce your jacket is AMAZING! MiamiVibe is right about the shoulder pad part, but if you did want to try for the look in the photo below, I’m sure you could find some removable shoulder pads with Velcro (or something non-damaging). My mom had those in the 80s
