Cop shows trying to copy MV?

I've seen in a lot of cop shows lately that have been trying to copy the style of Miami Vice, including CSI Miami and Burn Notice (CSI Miami isn't even shot in Miami, yet it went on for 12 seasons and 200+ episodes). I think it's funny that they're so unoriginal that they have to resort to even trying to copy one thing, let alone many others from the show. Even though MV lasted for 5 seasons and 111 episodes, it's still Top Dog in terms of cop shows. Even Starsky & Hutch and Magnum P.I. (Even though Magnum P.I. isn't really a "cop show") didn't come close to holding the reins.

    Interviewed About Miami Vice Style

Maybe some here will find this interesting. I was interviewed last year by an 80's design blog about the "Miami Vice look" (interior design, artwork, etc.) http://mirror80.com/2013/08/the-80s-connection-skylar-strickland/
