Viceguy
As Far As I understand this kind of jackets was quite widespread in the mid-to-late 80s.But do they have any specific name? I think they look really cool and retro, but as much as I would like to buy some, I think they are extremely rare today.
BadKarma
Haven't looked for any myself lately, but ca. 1987-1989, I owned quite a few jackets like that. Loose and roomy in the shoulders, fitted at the waist, very comfortable. My favorite was a white one I picked up in a store at the mall, can't even remember which one, made of a heavyweight cotton. Not denim, and finished better than canvas, more like you would find in a pair of Dockers.
Tony D.
The white jacket in my picture cost $20. I bought it about 6 yrs. ago at Marshalls or Burlington Coat Factory. Keep looking, Viceguy!
