airtommy
We know the bookie's office in the opening teaser was filmed at the Rio restaurant. That would be a cool place to eat, but it's long gone. I found this listing showing the precise address is 422 SW 2nd Ave. The business incorporation had just been filed 2 months before filming. Who knows, maybe they hadn't even opened the restaurant yet? THE RIO RESTAURANT, INC. Company Number M01819 Status Inactive Incorporation Date 14 June 1984 (about 37 years ago) Company Type Domestic for Profit Jurisdiction Florida (US) Agent Name RAMIREZ, ROBERTO Agent Address 422 S.W. 2ND AVENUE, MIAMI, FL 33130 https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_fl/M01819

Even the white gate was still there in 2014. Edited January 9, 2022 by Tom
airtommy
I love when confirming details like that rickety old gate can still be seen decades later! 1
fakespyder
I imagine Tom like Decker in the scene from Blade Runner where he's searching for clues in a photo: "Zoom in...stop, zoom out...stop, pan left...stop pan right...stop, enhance" 1

Matt5
A 1981 shot of Brickell Key and 520 Brickell Key Drive. A year before Citi Bank and the Intercontinental went up (1982) and before the Wachovia\ SE Financial Centre highrise (1984) on Chopin Plaza and Biscayne Bvld. We first see 520 Brickell Key Drive in the late August 1984 shot “One Eyed Jack” starring Dennis Farina - prominently during the end sequence from the water. We also see it in “Golden Triangle “ (Pt 2), “Indian Wars” and briefly in “Miracle Man” shot just north. miamijimf
The original Carillon Hotel at 6801 Collins Ave, Miami Beach. From hotel to condos, then it was rebuilt. It became Canyon Ranch Resort and is now Carillon Miami Wellness Resort. This is where Crockett meets Vincent poolside. Some Scarface scenes were filmed at the rooftop nightclub. Location was found by Sue (CarolineUK). Photo from Clubbing in Miami in the 80s. Edited December 24, 2023 by miamijimf
