pahonu
I was watching a TV show my father used to like called Baa Baa Blacksheep. It’s about the exploits of VMF-214, a fighter squadron in the Pacific during WWII, led by Gregory “Pappy” Boyington. My father also had Boyington’s book that he got signed by him when I was a kid. I’m sure the show is full of Hollywood exaggeration and inaccuracies, but it was pretty entertaining nonetheless. I hadn’t seen it since it least the early 80’s reruns when my dad introduced it to me, This was before Miami Vice, so it was fun see Michael Talbott in a small early role as an SP being conned by Boyington. The episode was called The Cat’s Whiskers. Edited January 10, 2021 by pahonu
Robbie C.
It actually wasn't bad as far as TV shows go. It stuck mostly to Boyington's auto-bio, which had some exaggerations, so some stuff was to be expected. What makes it really notable was the use of actual Corsairs in the filming.
