S.FL84
IDK why no one talked or wrote much about it then and especially now but Season Two's BACK IN THE WORLD was about as 1985 relevant as as MV itself was ridiculous. The CIA was most definitely neck-deep in it's anti communist activities in Central America in the early 1980's and this episode's use of one helluva spook like Liddy was so over the top for a television show it STILL blows me away. Its like a 1930's bobbed Harley Davidson big twin. Its an antique but its still a helluva better than anything made today. Its pretty freakin' cool Crockett & Stone hang out at the bar of The Carlyle, the exact same hotel's steps where MV's 1st epidsode was filmed. Incredible! http://www.miamivicelocations2.org/page17.html Edited December 27, 2021 by S.FL84

With Liddy only 10 years after he -together with others - broke into the Watergate hotel to bug the Democratic Party which triggered the Watergate scandal and Nixon resigning from office because his closest team members ordered it.Given this historic context Liddy´s guest starring was a gutsy coup. And he, Liddy (and others) broke into that room to secure document to would tie Nixon's involvement w/ Jacob Rubenstein (aka Jack Ruby) which the democrats would've used as leverage to prevent Nixon from seeking reelection. https://www.history.com/news/watergate-where-are-they-now Edited December 27, 2021 by S.FL84
S.FL84
I agree it was a "gutsy coup". Although his role on MV had (0) no historical relevance his political reputation definitely brought a helluva lotta credit to the 'Maynard' character w/out a doubt. I feel safe in saying no (0) other MV eps. featured an actor w/ the creditability as G. Gordon Liddy.
