Administrators timm525 Posted April 22, 2008 Administrators Report Share Posted April 22, 2008 OK,Who do you all think is the best over all Bond and why?I'll start:Roger Moore: The most "suave" Bond of them all. He just had that "look" to him that was unexplainable.Connery: Great and defined the character.Lazenby: Gave a black eye to the series.Dalton: Did a really good job keeping the series going.Bosnian: Did a great job since Moore keeping the series going.Final choice is: Moore, Brosnan, Craig in that order as the Official James Bond. What's you choice and why?Craig: Didn't like the guy at first, but after seeing the movie a few times, it grew on me. Good choice for Bond in IMHO
McIntyre
no brainer !!!Its Sean Connery. He is litterally the only one who could make it look real that he could kill someone then have wild sex with a hottie right afterwards.I am half scottish so pro-Sean but he is a legend ...Imagine his accent saying : Wumen, lassie, drep them panties, drep them nuow !!! Scot from S.C.
The Best Bond....James Bond is one of my top ten favorite characters of all time. I literally have a signed, framed picture of each actor who has played Bond in my hallway upstairs. It goes without saying I have all of the movies too. I even have a self help book titled How to Live the James Bond Lifestyle. It is a great book by the way. The question that you asked has no definite answer! I will say that Connery is a great choice for obvious reasons, but I really think Craig has done a great job with the character. Many people did not understand "Casino Royale". By the, I mean that most people did not realize that this film was about Bond becoming Bond. We learn a lot about the events that shaped our favorite spy into who he was in the later films. Of course, many casual viewers did not realize that "Casino Royale" was based on one of Fleming's original works. In a nutshell, each man who played Bond brought something different to the table. To many people, Bond is Connery, but I think that each actor deserves credit for what he did with the character.I am sorry about being so freaking long winded! Administrators Ferrariman Posted April 23, 2008 Administrators Report Share Posted April 23, 2008 Sean Connery is number 1Pierce Brosnan would be my 2nd pick Daniel Craig would be my 3rdNever liked Roger Moore, Bond became silly with him as the lead. He was the first bond I ever saw. I would imagine if I grew up during your era, I may have a different view on this.I do like Connery a lot thou. Dr. No is one of the best bond films. No high tech. stuff and you don't have a lot of explosions, just good old acting.
Guest The Talk
Sean Connery is number 1Pierce Brosnan would be my 2nd pickThat's my choice, too. :clap:No one else could top them.

Lar
Sean Connery, no contest. Pierce Brosnan is a second. Unfortunately, I haven't seen Daniel Craig yet, and is George Lazenby even in the running here?
IDOL
My favourite is Roger Moore.:clap:But Sean Connery was great too.The other ones were good, but not so good as Moore & Connery.

Carlo
In my opinion Sean Connery is the best bond actor but the movies themselves were better during the Moore era:"Octopussy" and "Live and let die" are my fafourites!
Sonny-Burnett
Best BondIf you've read the original Bond books, Bond is not at all like Connery or Moore as he is not tall and not particularly good looking, and not much of a sense of humor. I think Craig fits the book version of Bond best, as more of a tough and gritty character, but I think for pure charisma, style and humor you have to go for Connery. Administrators KaeptnCaipi Posted April 23, 2008 Administrators Report Share Posted April 23, 2008 Sean Connery in Thunderball. I love this one
Guest neworder
definately Roger Moorealthough Daniel Craig is fantastic, if he can keep up the standard in the last film then one day he may surpass Roger Moore in my book.SJB
JonnyDaytona
I think with James Bond.....I love 007 films, have my whole life. It seems the person who played Bond in each fan's generation seems to their favourite. I grew up with Roger Moore, so he has a special place in my heart. I think the magnificent thing is that each actor portrayed the character in dynamic fashion, be it exhibiting a suave air, brutal physicality, dry wit or menacing cunning. The best film series ever created by anyone, ever.
nmathews
My favorite James BondWell I have to go with Sean Connery I love his voice! and in the day he was so sexy and suave. He really sold the cold ruthless person who do anything to get the job done, but still make as many beautiful women as he could.:hot:2nd would have to be Pierce Bronson because he would also carry off the killer, but charming characterization.I haven't seen Craig, but I've heard he's good.As to Moore. I did enjoy his Bond movies, but the only way I could was to imagine Simon Templar for one reason or another needing to fill in for James Bond (Connery) I also enjoyed the Cold War stories better than the present day stories. Morgana
Looks like I am the odd one out... I adore Timothy Dalton and he seriously kicked ass as Bond... for me anyhow.
Tony D.
Brosnan is my second choice also. Yes Tim, I grew up with Connery!
Administrators timm525 Posted April 23, 2008 Author Administrators Report Share Posted April 23, 2008 Don't know how true this is, but I heard that Timothy Dalton was offered the part before Moore, but he felt he was too young for the part. Not sure what the ages are here, but I can't imagine an actor passing up a part like that on their own.I didn't like him at first, but he really shined as a guy bent on revenge in "License to Kill". I think he was a great Bond also, just not as good as the others.I think all of them except Lazenby were good in their own way.

Strange how many non-Bond fans dig OHMSS. I really enjoy the film, it has to be the closest to the source material of any in the series. vicenarc
My choice would be Roger Moore because coincidently my 2 favorite Bond movies are 'The Spy Who Loved Me' and 'Moonraker'.
Lar
Just out of curiosity' date=' how many of you are picking the Bond that you grew up with at that time?[/quote']I'm not. If that were the case, I'd be picking Timothy Dalton or Pierce Brosnan. I just think Connery was the original and best (maybe not original original, there was that 1954 live "Casino Royale", but you know what I mean).'Course, it was the Connery films that I remember being played on TBS all the time when I was younger, so in a sense I did grow up with that Bond, even if they were 30 or so years before my time.
