Matt5
Some more current day views sent to me of Turnberry Isle Marina in Aventura. The first picture (aerial) shows locations of scenes shot in “Golden Triangle” Part 1, “Junk Love” and “Phil the Shill”. Matt5
Today I visited Turnberry Isle Marina in Aventura where they filmed a lot of Part 1. Jeremy was of course right this meeting scene was filmed at Turnberry Isle but not at the North Tower, however the exact location is just opposite in the Marina office area (where Phil pulls up to in “Phil the Shill” at the end of the drive scene with Sara). I recognised it immediately and my last visit here I looked all over the grounds in the North Tower. Really only possible to find this on the ground. Matt5
After spending some extended time at Turnberry Isle Marina this year and studying the scenes closely in this episode, I can now confirm the following - the hotel scenes in “Golden Triangle” (Pt 1) were filmed at both The Key Biscayne Hotel, 701 Ocean Drive and the Turnberry Isle North Tower. Previously Jeremy had listed all the scenes being shot at Turnberry - but I can break down the following of the Turnberry and previously thought Turnberry scenes. 1. After the Turnberry Isle North Condo set up shot the rest of the Teaser is shot at The Key Biscayne Hotel (see pictures below to see the same area we saw in “Out Where the Buses Dont Run”) 2. Exterior pool shots -Turnberry Isle North Tower as known. 3. The beginning of the car tail scene ( Crockett and Tubbs tailing dirty cops) was shot at entrance/ forecourt of The Key Biscayne Hotel. 4. The interior where Candy was working was also the Key Biscayne Hotel. Seen as part of the Ocean Club in “OWTBDR”. 5. Interior parking garage (Crockett, Tubbs, Candy open car trunk) - Turnberry Isle North garage - ground floor (from entrance to water) 6. Night external driveway meet (Crockett slaps dirty cops) - Forecourt of the Turnberry Isle Marina offices. As I posted here a few months ago. Points 1,3,4 all were thought to be Turnberry previously. Of course additionally to this there was a scene shot at the Sunny Days Motel on Biscayne Bvld. @C Glide Edited September 26, 2019 by Matt5 3

airtommy
This was filmed in the parking deck which is between the Turnberry North Tower and South Tower. Hardly changed in 35 years. airtommy
This ep starts with a setup shot of the Turnberry condo. This setup shot is reused in many other episodes. Sadly, it is no longer possible to get a perfect re-creation of that original shot. They are renovating these condos. One change is to remove the old balcony railing and replacing it with a clear wall. This will change the look of the building quite a bit. In my pic below, at the far left is the old railing and on the far right is the new railing. Edited March 25, 2020 by airtommy
Dadrian
That’s sad news. I may have gotten one of the last MV fan shots of the original last year.
