Matt5
Nice Ocean Drive shot looking south of the Waldorf Towers ( now Room Mate ) from 9th Street which would Today have been taken at road level outside Mango's Tropical Cafe. The Casa Grande is in the background, https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@25.7792953,-80.1309017,3a,75y,220.68h,90t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sXH7HIho_hWlKSJTnPWER4Q!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en
airtommy
When "Count" Walker cruises around in his limo around 20:00, the first clip is unknown: This is a fairly long clip and we get a good look at several blocks. This looks like some kind of housing project, mostly single story. I'm surprised we haven't found this by now. It seems like it would be near the other clips in this scene (vicinity of the high school), but I can't find it.

Interesting - My guess would have been around Coconut Grove near the Oak Avenue park/ house seen throughout the episode

I would think so - it looks like quite residential so possibly around Oak in the Grove - after all the scene with our hero's meeting the Count in the Park was filmed opposite 110 Oak
miamijimf
I spent some time looking for where Count Walker is cruising in his limo without any luck. I looked at the Grove and Overtown. The best bet is Overtown. Here is a clip from Burn Notice's Means and Ends that shows a similar building at 220 NW 11th Terr., Miami Here is another similar building at NW 4th Ave and 7th Street, Miami. This is definitely the right area but there are fewer of these structures than there used to be because Miami has been into "Urban Renewal" for quite some time. There are even fewer in the Grove. That reduces the chances of finding the location. But it's not impossible. Edited June 12, 2016 by miamijimf
airtommy
Those are good finds! The first one isn't set back from the road, so that rules it out even before looking at the details. The second one is SOOOO close. The window to the right of the door is a double window, whereas in the scene it is a single window. Also, I think this building isn't as deep as the one in the scene. airtommy
Archie's house at 110 Oak Avenue appears to be due for demolition. I might be the last Vicer to ever lay eyes on it. Edited July 14, 2018 by airtommy
Sonny-Burnett
I liked this find, @airtommy, and I could only think of a few other small houses such as from Bought and Paid For, and maybe Hackman's sidekick's house (the girlfriend beater), or the house with the Ice Cream truck passing by warning the bad guys. Shame another is getting torn down, but this one looks to be unlivable for quite some time now. I was able to screen cap this from Bing yesterday. As you can see they were well underway to removing the old school. Jackson High School started life as a grade school. The original building was a log cabin built in 1898 on land donated by L.J. Becker. In its first year there were only 14 students. It was replaced by a four-room grade school which was more than doubled later with the addition of a five-room annex. Due to the growth of Miami's northwestern section, more rooms had to be added, and in 1926, a three-story high school building was added. This building remained the Jackson High School main campus until 2008, when a new campus, built upon the schools athletic fields, was opened and the historical building demolished with the land it was on making up the new athletic fields. Jackson's renovation was a part of a program to completely rebuild all high schools in Miami-Dade county and was the second school to be rebuilt after Miami Beach High School. The former building was the third oldest high school building in Miami-Dade County, Florida after Beach High and the historical campus at Miami High School. The tenth grade was added in 1936, and by 1939 the eleventh and twelfth grades were added. By then the elementary grades had been dropped. Jackson's first graduating class had 79 students. After World War II, the sixth through eighth grades were dropped, making Jackson High School a senior high school, as it remains today. The high school in 2014 in Allapattah - quite close to the site of Zito's gym in "Down for the Count "1&2

It's two miles north of the high school. I'll post details tomorrow.
airtommy
@C Glide Around 20:00 there is a video montage of Count Walker touring his ghetto. The first clip has been unknown up to now. Thanks to Dadrian's post in the Miscellaneous thread I determined this was filmed at the Liberty Square housing project. They are driving on NW 15th Ave at NW 63rd St. They are going southbound and view out the window is to the east. I want to link Google Street View but it's not working for me. I would think the only time the show shot there - although I don’t rejoice in a visit to Liberty City to get these shots. There are even fewer in the Grove. That reduces the chances of finding the location. But it's not impossible @miamijimf It took not long to find this building after reviewing all frames of the driving segment carefully and bearing in mind how they film such drive scenes. The count had the same suit, tie and shirt in this driving segment like in the drive segment at Liberty Square Project, in all other drive/montage scenes after he wore two other jackets/ties/shirts. Thus, it was clear that the green building with stairs had to be close to Liberty Square and not in the Grove or Overtown (they would not re-dress an actor just to repeat driving scenes in the same area and there is no fitting configuration with three parallel buildings in the Allapattah neighborhood where they filmed the Ghetto scenes and the school). The green building with the stairs is long gone, it was razed a few years after 1986 and was at 6000 NW 15 Ave, just 3 blocks off the Liberty Square Project (see last pic below). We see "the Count" driving on NW 60th Street eastbound and the green building was on the corner of 60th Street and NW 15 Ave. The 86 aerial shows the correct pattern of the green building (stairs hardly visible) with two parallel buildings at the correct distance behind it, the first behind it has fitting window shapes at the correct location as we see on TV. There is also a differently colored space in the small alley between buildings that is also on the 86 aerial. See proof below. The neighbor building on the left with the car parked in front of that we see on TV is still there as the roof and the windows are clearly recognizable and the grey square shaped power mast and the parking lot in front is still there at the right spot. There are still some similar buildings with stairs around in this neighborhood. P.S. there is a nearly identical neighbor building fit on the next corner at 14th Ave and 60th Street, but on historic aerials 1986 there was no building with stairs on the right and not enough space for it respectively.
