tamug92
I know the answer to my question is on this site somewhere but I must be terrible at searching. The marina where the St Vitus Dance and the Scarab were docked no longer exists does it? Was it the Miami municipal marina? What happened to it and what is located there now?It also seems like the boats where kept in a different marina in diff episodes?
C Glide
Of course they still exist, and yes that topic has been covered several times. Most of your location questions can be answered here-http://www.sffl.comcastbiz.net Mainly they started with Miami Marina at Bayside near reflections on the bay, Watson Island was used as well as Brickell Ave. before going to Alton Road. tamug92
So it looks like the original spot ie Miamarina is where the "Strictly Sail" part of the Miami Boat show is each year. I had been down there a few times during the 80's and 90's and most recently last year at the boat show. I guess that's why I thought it was gone because it was in fact closed down years ago and every piling etc removed then re-built and re-opened in 97'. Cool spot. Thanks for all the info
Stinger390X
Do St Vitus Dance and Scarab from MV still exist somewhere ? Yes...There are about a hundred Scarabs that were all used on the TV show (according to the owner(s) who have listed them on ebay)I am not sure what the status or name of the original SVD is, but there is an Endeavour registry and I am sure it's still around as there were only limited numbers made in that configuration.Season one Chris Crafts were only twelve in numbers and I know where six are located (I own one of the twelve). The Wellcrafts were produced in very large quantities for four years straight, so it would be hard to distinquish which one is "original" as they switched boats yearly and if you look closely there are suttle differences. A guy named Jim in Alexandria NY owns the actual original boat (documented for sure)Look in the glossary under "hardware/boats" and there is lots of info therehope that helps?have fun!
