Matt5
Just watched this episode and during the teaser ("In the Air Tonight ") - a lot of this is filmed around Biscayne Bvld / SE 2nd StreetHowever at 2.56 to 3.01 this was filmed coming around this corner towards the Hyatt Regency 400 SE2nd Avenue in Downtown on SE4th Street ( around 177 SE4th St ) with the elevated 970 Downtown Distributor in the b/g which links to the I95.The teaser ended at the Overtown metro stop where Crockett was shot. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Hyatt+Regency-Miami,+Southeast+2nd+Avenue,+Miami,+FL,+United+States&hl=en&ll=25.77154,-80.190647&spn=0.001418,0.001725&sll=52.8382,-2.327815&sspn=7.793676,14.128418&oq=HYATT+HOTEL+MIAMI&hq=Hyatt+Regency-Miami,+Southeast+2nd+Avenue,+Miami,+FL,+United+States&t=m&z=19&layer=c&cbll=25.771499,-80.190557&panoid=Natdssa6_YyEALdoEs5yHg&cbp=12,292.93,,0,36.
Matt5
Of course seen in "Florence Italy" during the teaser - but we also see SE2nd St in the teaser during "In the Air Tonight " in A Bullet for Crockett episode teaser going down the street the wrong way . I took this photograph in 2011 .
C Glide
I just started working on this episode for my location site. Because this is a clip episode I did not think much of it, but Miami Vice again proves full of little golden nuggets of cool trivia. I had not watched it in a while but as I started watching it tonight I was happy to realize something that I did not know and do not recall having read before. As I watched the teaser and saw the drug deal go bad it was fun to see Hackman's hideout. I wonder if he was watching since we were only one episode away? It was fun to find that the drug deal was filmed at the same location. As they speed away starting the chase we see the sign on the solid fence that still stands today as it did then, Department of Solid Waste. No wonder we see so much crap around. Love MV location hunting.
Tom
No wonder that locations are close, just look at the shooting dates of both eps. they were shot simultaneously.

Matt5
In the teaser always wondered where that wall was ( white "City of Miami" wall ) which was located at Nw20th Street/Nw 13th Ave intersection
Matt5
Thanks to Jeremy - I never realized they filmed the end of the teaser on Nw 1st Court leading to the Overtown rail station - they also filmed C&Ts caddy drive on NW1st Court from "Childs Play". Matt5
The quintessential clip show episode which I watched last night- with some really nice locations from this the last filmed episode of the fourth season filmed up to the 31st March 1988 . I wonder if it was the Mount Sinai they used or could be any of the other medical centres they used during the show's run Edited September 10, 2014 by Matt5
airtommy
C Glide, I'd like to point out a typo on your site: http://www.miamivicelocations4.org/page33.htmlFor the first turn in the chase (in front of the Department of Solid Waste sign), your pic correctly points to NW 13th Ave, but you wrote: "Then it cuts and we see them head from northbound on NW 15th Avenue to westbound on NW 20th Street."

Matt5
airtommy posted this location in location trivia from the teaser of "A Bullet for Crockett" (SE4th St, Downtown Miami) and I just wanted to add some photos to this thread for the same location which I took when I visited this location in 2014 (first two photos credit - airtommy ) Edited July 19, 2017 by Matt5
airtommy
At the train station where Sonny gets shot, there is something weird. Most of it was filmed at Overtown Station. We look South & Southeast and see what we expect, Dade County Courthouse and Miami Tower: But then suddenly we see two clips that make no sense: That looks like One Biscayne Tower but I'm not 100% sure: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Biscayne_Tower These two clips were definitely filmed at a different station.

Could the second screencap be the Peoplemover?
Matt5
Very interesting shots I lightened them up - and put a map with some buildings that match. In picture 1 yes that is the One Biscayne Tower and Jim could be right is it the people mover? But it does look like the train. In picture 2 with that angle of the BOA tower it must be Govt Centre or Overtown - look at the building centre picture is that the one circled pink in my map. But what doesn’t make sense is the Suntrust building (far back above train as that’s just off Biscayne). That building on the right above the train is south of the river in the Brickell area: https://goo.gl/maps/aLxeTZ6q7gt https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brickell_Bayview_Center And now that I think about it, that's the mystery building in my original picture! So this shot was also at the Overtown Station (or at Government Center) looking south, just a much tighter shot than the others so that the courthouse is not in the view. Got that so are these two buildings ( highlighted by my arrows ) the same two we also see in this scene.?

Interesting I didn’t realise that building (taller one of the two with marked orange crosses) was there back then, I’ve seen it many times in person but this is the first time (1988) I knew it was in Miami Vice. You're right, it wasn't there during most of Vice. In the 1986 aerial the lot is empty. This ep was filmed in March 1988 and the building was just completed in January 1988: https://www.emporis.com/buildings/122284/courthouse-center-miami-fl-usa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Courthouse_Center_(Miami)
