summer84
Season 1 Crockett making a guest appearance this episode. I wonder, where the reused footage was taken from. He wore this outfit in "The Great McCarthy," but we don't see this scene, so maybe it was in "One Eyed Jack"? Edit: It could be "One Eyed Jack," only the shot is from a different angle. Screenshot from "One Eyed Jack" episode below pic. So maybe it was new unused footage from this episode. RedDragon86
If they made more of these episodes this season would have been decent. Edited March 5, 2020 by RedDragon86

Ok you'll have to forgive me for the old ass quote I'm quoting here but I rewatched Baseballs of Death last night and I had to admit, it was a real banger. It's been forever since I even watched most of S4 so I'm in the process of rewatching the season but seeing episodes like this, I agree. If they made more episodes that were this good and had a little bit of a Season 2-ish feel to them season 4 really wouldn't have been that bad and probably looked at in a better light. Also the opening shot of the episode wowed my eyes and ears!

Its not even the same boat I don't understand this old stock footage. If Don is seen in his boat at the current time why couldn't they just film the entire scene?
Assasinge
I guess Elvis ate part of the boat.

And I remember reading it was expensive shooting boats scenes. Also I believe, that they had a lower budget for the production from S3 on. I think, it's interesting about this shot, that we got to see some footage that possibly hadn't been used before. Assasinge
Hey, at least the stock footage or bloopers aren't as bad as Knight Rider's now today, are they? Lol! Although seriously, yeah that is pretty cool on one hand to see footage never seen before but on another hand..."come on man!"
TylerDurden389
Unless my memory is faulty, the worse offender(s) were Jag and Pensicola: Wings of Gold. I'd catch one of them (or possibly both) on tv as a kid during the 90's and I could clearly tell the planes footage was from both Top Gun and Iron Eagle. Assasinge
Am I the only one who finds this episode in particular really fun to watch for some reason? Especially that opening sequence...one of my favorites!

No, you’re not alone. I think there is lots of consensus within the fanbase that BOD is one of the best episodes of season 4 at least. I dig it too. Especially I like the teaser (great visuals and Petersen tune!), the overall pace and the violent humor (“looks like a cattle prod specialist to me...”). Also this episode has the last real Scarab use in the series!

I’m definitely in the “like” group for this episode. I’m always delighted when it rolls around. Along with the pros Tom mentioned, I really like the “20 Killer Hurts” song at the night club. Assasinge
Yeah 20 Killer Hurts is a real badass track, I sometimes stick in some short films me and my friends do for similar scenes and it usually turns out great. Also you know what's funny? The main villain of the episode looks like Robert McNamara lol

I like the way the took some elements from previous episodes in season 1&2. The ending is like the one from "One Way Ticket" the scene before Sagot steals the speedboat and the arms dealer reminded me a lot like Jimmy Borges. Agreed, really nice episode that basically screamed Season 2, but with a fashion statement and tone of 4 as well. It's a terrible shame season 4 didnt' have more of these episodes, it would be 100x better and actually successful.
AndrewRemington
I’m sure others knew this, but I just learned that Tony Plana who played Ernesto Guerrero also played Cinco in “Give A Little, Take A Little”! He looks very different from the one episode to another!

Mr. Vigilante
I've seen him in quite a few things over the years. My reaction has always been, "It's that dude from Miami Vice". On another note....my wife and I have recently adopted something from this episode. Guerrero's answering the phone of "Digame". We've started doing that when the number looks like a scam call. They've either hung up, or said "Oh sorry, you speak Spanish." Either way I'm hoping they're removing us from the call list. Helpful hint for all you Vicers. Thanks Guerrero!

Jack Gretsky
Guerrero reminded me of the loathsome Tony Amato from "No Exit": bad guys who are immune because they are useful to American interests. A classic espionage trope! It's nice seeing Lisa Marie looking fairly normal. I'm more used to her in Tim Burton movies where he has her dressed up as Vampira, a Martian, or an ape. I can see why some people think Baseballs of Death has a season 1 or 2 feel, but it still lacks the sparkle of those earlier shows. (I actually assumed from its title that this would be another "screwball" episode like The Cows of October or The Big Thaw. Maybe a baseball or softball league playoff game between the OCB and the DEA? Admittedly, the thought of Trudy and Gina in softball attire and short shorts would be a plus for that scenario. )
depressya
hi guys, i have a question (two matter of fact) 1. at the very beginning Cinder says "Ten chokes, a couple of halfers, and all I got to show is 300." its clear she talks bout "clients" but ive never heard terms "chokes/halfers" before - could somebody explain it to me? 2. 100 Enco Mark IV's, side-loading. (Stiles/Guerrero warehouse scene) - what the hell is this? i tried to google it, but... it is some made-up weapon as "Mosberg 870"? thanx

(Stiles/Guerrero warehouse scene) - what the hell is this? i tried to google it, but... it is some made-up weapon as "Mosberg 870"? thanx 1. is easy to answer- although I am not a potential Cinder customer: "choke" is a slang term for French sex (yes, the one that Bill Clinton defined as non-sex ;-). At least in this context of street hookers, as alternatively "choke" can also mean grabbing someone´s throat to achieve sexual satisfaction by oxygen reduction or SM/violence. A "halfer" is -as the name suggests- a quickie with half the pay than the "full program". 2. I have not found that Enco Mark either and was some discussion among us some time ago that this and some other toys mentioned were fake (which was rare in the series, most toys mentioned were real, e.g. Belgian Browning Highpower, Mac10, ... The Mossberg is real but the number is fake. There is no Mossberg 870, but a Mossberg 500 which is an equivalent to the Remington 870. P.S. As I am from Austria, I never understood why they never used a Glock, which would have been a perfect weapon for our heroes as it is very light and precise and nowadays used by many law enforcement agencies. From today´s standard, I would recommend them a Beretta APX, which is as good as the Glock but much cheaper and a good choice for special forces and law enforcement due to its features (semi-automatic, good grips on the slide, big magazine).
