To me Bond has always been Connery, Moore was ironic and funny, I didn't like Timothy Dalton and for purely anagraphic reasons the Bond who left the greatest mark was the one seen first at the cinema, so Brosnan....and I confess that I never liked him much, I found him stuffy and wooden (watching Goldeneye I was rooting for the ever-bad Sean Bean), the plots of Brosnan's films were all "too much" and at the time of "The World Is Not Enough" I was already a movie maniac and I expected great things from Michael Apted but the only really great thing he gave was an out-of-canon super Bond girl Sophie Marceau
"Tomorrow Never Dies" has been an unspeakable suffering from start to finish, so I welcomed Casino Royale as something really new and remarkable: a new -look like a Russian- Bond, "half monk and half killer", cold blooded, glacial, at times cruel, gifted with a cutting irony.
With Craig was the end of the cartoonish Bonds and the beginning of the Bonds for adults, even violent ones, and in fact (maybe there are 25 of us on the whole planet) I loved Quantum of Solace a lot : It's a ferocious, rough, pitiless, out-of-control Bond, supported by a solid and truly original plot.
Skyfall has been a thrilling experience with a sens of decline on it...the atmosphere was so intense, I remember that in the cinema there was an unreal silence, broken at the moment in which Da Silva gets a little too intimate with Bond and a lady summed it up the terror that ran through everyone's veins in the row saying out loud "eh, no, @#€# it! Bond a f....t, no!"😅
My love for Bond took a lethal nosedive with Spectre, unwatchable from the moment Sulky Madeleine enters the scene. What's redeeming about Spectre? The dopamine-fueled start, the car chase in Rome, and Chris Waltz.
No Time to Die was pure garbage beyond any respect for the viewer: dialogues and plot written by teenagers, ridiculous characters, idiotic ..everything! The tombstone on the Bond saga
And knowing how much hand Craig had in it it's incomprehensible how he could destroyed the character that gave him everything☹️
