Tourist 32 Posted September 19, 2020 Report Share Thanks man! I'm using Clip Studio Paint since I got it on sale two years ago and an ass-old graphic tablet I got from my fiancée. CSP comes with some really nice oil brushes which I'm using for almost every digital work. If interest arises, I can take screenshots and compile a step-by-step for the next work? Until i do that, my steps for this particular sketch were: New file with background layer in this blue-ish colour --> transparent layer on top --> lineart on top layer. I kept it rather sketchy, bg layer below is for shading --> blocked in darkest parts and shadowed planes of the faces with oil brush on low amount and density of paint, used same colour as lineart. This has a rather 'traditional' feel to it but is much healthier than breathing in oil paint fumes^^ --> tried to use background colour as highlight on their faces, so I rendered only the darkest parts on Sonny's face. With Rico i had to keep in mind that darker skin reflects light differently, not sure if I succeeded here. I need to draw poc more often to learn that. --> decided background colour wasn't light enough for really bright highlights, so I slightly tapped their eyes and teeth with a shade a little lighter than the bg colour --> used a coarse brush to add Sonny's stubble and voilà! 1 Quote Link to comment
