Detective_Crockett
When Sonny and Rico are watching Lombard step off the boat and make a joke about him catching a late movie, why do they both do an impression of a British accent? it goes like.. Rico: (British) ''Crockett, you never take more than one briefcase to the theatre right?''Crockett: (British) ''Absolutely not...'' Something along the lines of that Is there any specific reason why they did this or was it just for laughs? (I'm British myself and I thought it was quite humorous)
CharlieGlide
I think it's more of an American thing to imitate a high-end English accent with regards to going to the "theatre." Back in the day, it was usually only the educated or the elite who went to the theater. In this context, theater relates to live theater as opposed to the cinema. Detective_Crockett
Well that clears it up for me quite a lot, thanks pal, I suppose it's just me being confused about some of the things they say, after all this is the 80's they always did make references or talk about things relevant to the current time. Administrators Ferrariman Posted March 11, 2015 Administrators Report Share Posted March 11, 2015 Crockett's reply to Tubbs was "Oh really?" (accent included!)
