Could Miami Vice have done any crossovers?

Do you think Miami Vice could have a 2-part, or maybe even a 3-part, special in which its plot was intertwined with another show?  ...In a way of cross-promoting both shows possibly.  Were there any 80s shows you would have wanted to crossover with Miami Vice?

For my idea, with Season 4 trying to incoporate humor, instead of using the science fiction elements, I thought possibly crossing over with "The Golden Girls" since both shows take place in Miami. :)  Okay... just hear me out. :p

-----------

It would start out with one of Blanche's elderly boyfriends taking an unknown pill just before he and Blanche are about to get "romantic" at a nearby hotel room, as Blanche is getting ready in bathroom, she hears her boyfriend moan in agony.  With the closed bathroom door and the television on, Blanche thinks its her boyfriend trying to seduce and tease her, but when she steps out of the bathroom wearing a red silk robe, she finds him clutching his chest being semi-conscious and immediately calls 911.  As she dials, she says to herself, "I knew I would be more than he can handle", thinking that her attractiveness is just that powerful.

Then the Miami Vice intro comes on.  As the plot progresses, there's an increasing amount of mostly elderly men arriving at Miami hospitals who are having heart attacks, and it eventually gets the Miami Vice detectives to investigate the situation, they find that these elderly men have been taking illegal aphrodisiacs (more potent than today's Viagra) through the retirement communities.  As Crockett and Tubbs try to find the source of the illegal aphrodisiacs, Switck goes undercover as an elderly man (just as in "Made For Each Other") in trying to pay and find the aphrodisiacs as a customer, but finding himself being pestered by Rose and Sophia for being the new guy within the community.  Gina and Trudy are the ones to question the elderly men at the hospital, but to their surprise, they discover that their young, attractive appearances are enough to give most of the elderly men another heart attack since the potency diminshes slowly, and are forced to dress in more demure attire; eventually meeting up with Rose and her boyfriend at the hospital (who survived the heart attack), and find themselves in an uncomfortable situation as Rose and her boyfriend discuss the details of what happened.  In addition to having to "work on the streets", to specifically find and locate where elderly men are going to find prositutes since these men are "reliving" their youth.

-----------

Crockett (as Burnett) meeting the supplier for the first time:  "...Yeah, my partner and I are looking to be a part of the action."

The supplier:  "What action?  Looking at you, I think my product is the last thing you need in helping you perform for the ladies."

Crockett groans in frustration, "No no.  Not that action.  I mean helping you sell the product wiseguy."

-----------------

As the plot continues further and the Vice Detectives meander their three paths in finding the connection, they soon discover that Dorothy's new friend and possible love interest, has been a middle man distributor for the illegal aphrodisiacs.  Also, Crockett and Tubbs discover that the individual who is supplying the illegal aphrodisiacs, owns multiple senior retirement complexes (with Tubbs and Crockett initially thinking the individual is sadistic in harming the same elderly population that he is trying to provide for), and only after the individual goes to trial, do Tubbs and Crockett find out that a significant proportion of the sales of the illegal aphrodisiacs were used to keep the living costs cheap for the senior tenants.  They now worry that the high probability of the individual's conviction, will now cause hundreds of senior citizens to be evicted and homeless as the rent prices increase dramatically.

-----------------------------

Yeah... maybe that's just me, but it would have been hilarious to combine having the Vice detectives trying to find an effective approach in going into the elderly community, and in the process, revealing the senior community's sex lives, in order to locate and stop the shipment of illegal aphrodisiacs.  Plus, add Izzy to the mix.

...But of course, the production logistics would have been a nightmare though.

...So any crossovers you guys thought of?  :)

Golden Girls did do a Miami Vice-referenced show. Because they talked about Miami Vice from the standpoint of production, they hurt their chances of a story tie in, but I like your thinking! :-)

I think Vice could have done a nice tie in with Midnight Caller, especially since both of their pilots were helmed by Thomas Carter. He'd know how to steer each stylistically (and it helped they were both on NBC).

I was just looking up Golden Girls, and it has this character...

Obsessed with Miami Vice and dresses like Sonny.

EDIT: I'm about to watch that episode that pays tribute to Miami Vice it's called Nice and Easy, Season 1 Episode 17

EDIT 2: This episode is awesome! so many MV references and people talking about it and paying tribute.

It would have been nice some crossover with another 80s police drama. Like 'Hunter' (remember?) also on NBC. For instance, the episode 'a rock and hard place' could have been an opportunity for a potential crossover episode as Crockett finds himself in LA and bumps into Hunter &McCall who are investigating a murder in the music industry and the three cops reluctantly decide to work together. Or perhaps a crossover with Magnum PI early on S1 (when that show was still at the height of popularity to lose fans later for MV).....lots of material for fan fiction i'd love to write

My personal take: no thanks (various reasons from style over content - pack Caitlin´s sideshow and a crossover into one episode? - to the fact that cross-overs were not common back then). Leap of Faith as an attempt for a spin-off of 21 Jump Street was enough for me :p

There was an episode of Crime Story that featured Miami. In my head I considered it to be the same Miami that Vice would take place in later (Crime Story was the 60s). So that could be the Mann-iverse, if you will. But I don't see MV gelling well with other shows of the time because it was so different. Maybe Mike Hammer could come to town, or Wiseguy?

I honestly don't think there was much potential for crossovers. They rarely work, and when they do it's because the shows either have the same parent (CSI) or a very similar organizational feel (Hawaii 5-0 and NCIS LA, for example). Vice was its own self-contained universe, and there wasn't much at the time that could have fit in. Although it would have been amusing to see Magnum wander through and be totally confused by everything...:p Or maybe Higgins trying to sweat Castillo.
