Thank you Miami Vice 1984 for sharing this DVD! I just watched the whole thing, yes that's right a whole hour. Normally I don't have the patience, but I caught a lot of it, even if it wasn't with subtitles. Would have made it easier though.

Anyway in this documentary I noticed, how it's mostly about the Vice Squad dealing with prostitution and the three to four steps they always undertake. I had expected most of the video being about fighting drug crime and it was interesting to learn that, "Vice type activities" are mostly considered being prostitution, gambling, loan sharking and pornography. "though drugs are still a major concern in Miami." Also what was interesting to learn, is that the Vice Squad mostly spend their time investigating a case and do arrests with nonviolent people involved. Still there are life threatening situations in which the police officers need to have their basic cop skills in order. And sometimes the Vice detectives work with other Units like the SWAT if their suspects are too dangerous.

Of course watching this, I couldn't help but compare it to the episodes of Miami Vice and see how much of the real life stuff was used and wasn't.      I can't remember how much Video Surveillance they used on Miami Vice, I believe it was in the episode Rites of Passage. And the only gambling I can remember is the episode with Switek having a gambling addiction. And the bug devices were used many times on the show.

Maybe this is a difficult question, but can anyone remember all of these different devices that were used on the show?                              

The first episode that comes to mind is Lend Me an Ear.
