COOPER&BURNETT
Didn't Miracle man have one something like this with the barrel extention made of Chocolate?I wouldn't buy it without proof of it's use in the show, and what episode. Anyone can sell a fake gun and say it was on the show.
Dadrian
c'mon coop. that DJ/PMT/Daytona pic is total proof :)as far as miracle man goes: i'll go with you on the nose (except there are no bite marks on this one), and didn't gorje's gun have a butt?i'm no gun expert BY FAR. is it kosher to put a butt on a KG99? COOPER&BURNETT
I've fired many a gun, however, other than being a pretty good shot, I don't know much about guns.I have no interest in owning it myself. But your right. If it's sitting on a Miami Vice photo, it's GOT to be real!
cybercop106
Sorry to be a Johnny come lately, but I just joined the forum. The prop is an inferior copy of the Interdynamic/Intratech KG9, commonly referred to as a Tec 9. It's a fairly cheap, semi-auto assault pistol with high capacity capability (10 - 50 rounds depending on magazine) and often used by criminals. They were developed in Sweden, but actually marketed in the US originally by a subsidiary company in Miami Florida. They changed the design to fire from the closed bolt in the mid 80s because the original open bolt configuration was too easy to convert to full auto. Now I'm gonna be keeping an eye out for fodder characters using Tec 9s in MV episodes. The one 'Miracle Man' had, with the chocolate barrel, vaguely resembles a late 1960s S&W Model 76.........

Dadrian
looks like they're at it again. this time it's a 45:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380123462194&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123
jcm8002204
BlueGuns.comI'd try to find out what 'brand' this molded version is...the description would suggest that it 'should be' a high quality molded version, which would also be from a company that does (did) produce them for the specific purpose of background actors, which would not require a truly functioning weapon, since they are secondary background actors, and actual firearms on set are kept to an absolute minimum due to insurance requirements. Start by checking with Ring's Manufacturing (blueguns.com) (moviegun.com) that make many full-sized, authentic (mold created from casts of actual models), but are inert resin. 'Blue Guns' are just that color for quick and easy identification as inert...they also mold in more realistic dark colors, and prop artists can touchup any features that may make in onto screen. Dadrian
cool thanks. it would be really nice if the seller could identify the ep(s) the weapons were used in (if indeed they were).

But the slide stop is missing....?!?
cybercop106
[url">http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/Star_Z-70_B_submachine_gunI don't understand what you're referring to KAV..... The eBay weapon referenced is a completely different configuration than the Star?!? http://miami-vice.ws/picture.php?albumid=12&pictureid=76http://miami-vice.ws/picture.php?albumid=12&pictureid=75 http://miami-vice.ws/picture.php?albumid=12&pictureid=77Now if you were referring to Miracle Man's submachine gun' date=' it differs from both the Star and the Tec9 in that the receiver and magazine well are separated from the trigger by a long expanse of recoil tube. Like the S&W Mdl 76: [img']http://miami-vice.ws/picture.php?albumid=12&pictureid=

cybercop106
Well, I'm a Smith and Wesson trained Armorer and was the Senior Firearms Instructor for my dept since 1997. So that, plus my military experience and training gives me a little knowledge about a lot of different weapons. Just trying to help with ID and nomenclature....... Administrators timm525 Posted December 8, 2009 Administrators Report Share Posted December 8, 2009 Looks like a plain ole Colt .45 1911 to me.
COOPER&BURNETT
I wouldn't buy it.It's not unique, or any prop that couldn't be found on any other cop show.I like unique MIAMI VICE items that are unmistakeable.
Administrators timm525 Posted December 8, 2009 Administrators Report Share Posted December 8, 2009 I'd like to know what ep. and who used this "prop" gun?
Dadrian
with this sellers history of "authentic" MV items, probably none, tim.
Gary1911A1
Here's on for sale: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=149195790 I have heard they are not very good as far as being reliable and easy to shoot. I think they fire from an open bolt which causes some problems.
Administrators timm525 Posted December 9, 2009 Administrators Report Share Posted December 9, 2009 I personally have never heard anything good about them.
