@daytona365 can the bars of the headrests easily be pulled out on a Daytona (like most cars nowadays)?

I would think so. I mean...these bars and their guides don't look much different than today.

Interestingly, the sticker on the hood in the swap shop reads "365 GTB4", while an original Daytona Spyder would actually have a 365 GTS/4 designation. However, as Ferrari has built only 122 original Spyders, some of the GTB hardtop coupes were later converted by coachbuilders. The windshiled frame looks slightly different in the episode than on an original GTS/4, so this has likely been a converted car too. Also the trunk lid alignment was rather poor in the episode and the radio antenna was missing, which could mean the car had just been converted and wasn't fully completed. (or it just means the trunk wasn't properly closed :p)

I can see just the seats being changed, but it’s more unlikely that the door panels and all were changed.

Yet, I wonder why they would put the sign up though. The authenticity of the Testarossa is documented. Also, I wonder what (in particular) lead them to believe this Daytona was in Miami Vice, especially since they weren’t claiming it was one of THE Daytonas (like so many other posers have done over the years).

the seats it has now were standard for the 365, maybe the headrests were optional but they're OEM

In the episode it looks like original seats too, however with the headrests removed, as the headrest guides are still visible

Do you think the first picture Dadrian posted could be this one in the episode? as there are no headrests.

Henn's car is a factory Spyder it's in multiple Ferrari listings as such. However some factory Spyders were born as 365 GTB/4 Spyder and then later classified as 365 GTS/4 Spyder years later. So it is very possible his was born as a 1971 365 GTB/4 Spyder as that was the factory designation when it rolled off the line.

Replica's and non factory recognized conversions do not get into events like Cavillino Classic.

I could be wrong, but the headrests seem as removable as a gas cap, so it would be hard to use that as a determining factor.

@king77 is this Henn fellow the owner of all the cars at the Swap Shop, or is it kind of a free-for-all in there?

Yes, well and no, Preston died in 2017. I believe his wife is still alive and her and their kids still own the Swap Shop, it's like a big swap meet with attractions, one being his car collection.

This was not the car used in the Miami Vice episode One Way Ticket, The car in that episode had black interior and seats did not have headrests as well. The car is still at the swap shop in 2020 as well as the original MV Testarossa when I was there.

FYI; the Swap Shop Testarossa seems to have been sold!
