agent 47
I was watching the pilot (Brother's Keeper) and noticed something, when Tubbs gets the call for the deal with Leon, Wheeler and Crockett, he was eating pizza, this might be a strange thread but I thought Tubbs was supposed to be a vegetarian? It looked like there was pepperoni on the pizza, anybody know this?
Viceman Cometh
I think he also sipped an alcoholic beverage or two before they suddenly decided the character was a teatotaler. So, you're probably right about what you saw.

So' date=' you're probably right about what you saw.[/quote']I remember reading that the creator, Yerkovitch, wrote the pilot about the undercover experience. Alcohol and fast food were very much a part of that. In fact, I had never had a drink of alcohol till I started working undercover. In the late 70s and early 80s you could not get away with drinking anything else in a bar-or a strip club like the place Tubbs meets Scotty Wheeler. I would suggest that the change was made when PMT felt more comfortable imposing his own personality on the character of Tubbs.JN
cybercop106
A Vegetarian drug dealer....... I always got a kick out of the idea. Veganism is rooted in the idea that eating meat violates their ethical commitment or moral conviction concerning animal rights, the environment, human health, and/or spiritual/religious concerns. But it's okay to poison people with illicit drugs. Sorry, just funny to me........ Maybe it was Bocaroni or Tofuroni on that pizza Agent 47?!? agent 47
Maybe it was Bocaroni or Tofuroni on that pizza Agent 47?!? Umm... I don't think they had those things back in 1984' date=' [b']Cybercop 106.:D
cybercop106
Cybercop 106.:DOf course you're right, Boca Foods wasn't around until 1993. I meant Veggeroni..... Or something equally as disgusting......

[/quote']Maybe it was beets, I have seen weird stuff put on pizza. (If Cici's pizza was arund then, it could have been anythingfrom them, they make every kind of pizza except normal pizzas like supreme or pepperoni)Another thing is a lot of vegans don't eat cheese, because it comes from cows and pizza without cheese is unthinkble except for mexican and greek pizza. COOPER&BURNETT
I would suggest that the change was made when PMT felt more comfortable imposing his own personality on the character of Tubbs.JNThat's why I believe. However, how come he isn't "POINTING" at everyone in the series? COOPER&BURNETT
Also, remember, in "ONE EYED JACK", Tubbs is great at gambling, and wins MONEY from Lombard's Casino!THEN, in the season finalle "LOMBARD", when Lombard is being protected by Crockett and Tubbs, Tubbs tells Lombard, "I don't gamble." ivoryjones
About drinking, I believe Tubbs never refused champagne (The Great McCarthy for sure, I believe when he's with Michelle in "Evan", and I have some memories of him drinking champagne at the begining of "Cuba Libre")
COOPER&BURNETT
In SCORE (Golden Triangle pt1), On Crockett's boat, Tubbs asks Crockett if he want's a beer. He goes below deck, and returns with two beers, one of which he was drinking. He is drinking Champagne with Michelle in EVAN.
ivoryjones
So Tubbs used to drink alcohol either undercover and when he was off duty. It seems he was not much into heavy drinks like Whisky, but anyway one can get real drank with beer or Champagne.
Guest myonlyvice
I believe Tubbs had a mixed drink in at least one episode. I think it had one or more of the little accoutrements commonly associated with mixed drinks: a cherry, little paper umbrella, etc. Not very manly! Tony D.
The drink may not look manly, but that double barrel shotgun leveled at Calderon's head did!
COOPER&BURNETT
Tubbs drank a tropical drink after he followed Leon from the courthouse before Leon was shot.
