So if this was June 1987, Don's hair was back to how it was in seasons 1-2 (it grew longer throughout season 3) but I guess they had him keep growing it.

I read somewhere the season 2, slicked back hair look was Don's idea and he had to fight for it. The producers wanted him to keep the same look as in season 1.
