Computer problem?

I edited a 5 minute movie yesterday, using windows movie maker. Only problem was when I saved it to my computer it did not save the video, just the audio.A friend advised me to use the editing program from my camera. It is samsung. I did this and it started to save it but the computer shuts down every time I went to save the edited video to file and also CD. It gets about 1 minute into saving and shuts down.So I went back to windows movie maker. After some investigating I changed some of the settings and it saved a short 2 minute video, picture and sound. Now I am trying to save the another video and movie maker is now shutting down about 1 to 2 minutes into the saving process.I can save other files. And have tried removing and reloading programes, but still the same.I have tried all that I know, from my limited computer knowlede. If any vice fans have ideas it would be appreciated.
