Am Ocean Drive kann man sogar schon fast wieder von touristischer Normalität sprechen.Allerdings haben viele Hoteliers durch die zahlreichen Reisestonierungen schon jetzt unter erheblichen Umsatzeinbussen zu leiden. Um ihre völlig intakten Häuser dennoch zu füllen und die Verluste wenigstens abzufangen, greifen manche Hotelbesitzer zu drastischen Mitteln. Wo man sonst zwischen 150 und 250$ pro Nacht bezahlt, ist jetzt ein Zimmer mit Blick auf den Ocean Drive schon für 50$ zu haben (wie hier im Colony-Hotel). Vermutlich wird dieser Billigtrend noch bis Mitte oder sogar Ende November anhalten, schätzen Fachleute der Reisebranche. Tom Peps Posted December 14, 2005 Report Share Posted December 14, 2005 Ich habe 1995 Hurrican Erin miterlebt, als ich an der Küste von Pensacola, FL, auf Perdido Key, Urlaub machte.War schon krass, Boote auf den Straßen liegen zu sehen und die umgeknickten Palmen, Dächer, Strommasten usw.Wir hatten soviel Glück, daß wir dort noch eine Tankstelle gefunden haben, die offen hatte, sonst hätten wir Meilen unser Auto schieben können.Das war ein Erlebnis, der Tag und Abend davor, die Ruhe vor dem Sturm.Man sah aus der Terassentür, rechts war das schönste Wetter und links alles grau. Abends fiehl der Strom kurz aus, alles war finster, zum Glück hatten wir noch Kerzen kaufen können.Am nächsten Tag wurde Perdido Key geräumt, ist ne Halbinsel, und wir sind gen Atlanta gefahren. Eigentlich hat am meisten die Natur Schaden genommen. Zerfledderte Palmen sieht man an jeder Ecke und der eine oder andere Baum liegt entwurzelt zum "Abtransport" bereit. Cheaper than every hotel here in holland. it would be cool to just go for a couple of days, say, monday till friday and just check everything out. Plus i´m going to take loads of pictures.
