Hier, direkt am Ocean Drive, wohnte der Modeschöpfer bis zu seinem Tod. Er wurde am 15. The Villa is rumored to have an underground passageway near the pool and the mosaic dial on the pool deck holds the key to the tunnel’s entrance. No one has yet been able to decipher the code. The pool’s extravagant 1,000 mosaic tiles and 24-carat gold may be to blame. Also legend maintains that Casa Casuarina was the original name given to the house when it was built in 1930 as homage to the only remaining tree in the lot after the 1926 hurricane that hit South Florida. Freeman was forced to cut down the tree in order to make room for the construction of his new house. Casuarina esquisetifolia is the botanical name of the tropical tree popularly known as the “Australian Pine”. This is a beautiful tree that was planted all over S.
