monr31
hey guys, i'm new here and just curious although this may be off-topic.what is everyone's opinion of the style in the film 'scarface' when compared to miami vice? obviously this movie is very different from mv, and I'm not trying to ask which one people think is better - I'm talking about costumes, music, cars, sets, and other stylistic elements only. LilWussyPrince
I think the MV production team definitely had Scarface in mind in 1984, as well as Paul Schrader's American Gigolo, and Duran Duran and Japan music videos. It was just a natural stylistic progression. I think the premiere of Miami Vice was the turning point of the decade where it shed any residual resemblance to the 70's.
