Interesting Tom- in my opinion it looked like a studio (but wasn’t) in the Season 1 episode because it was at nite - but now going back I can see it wasn’t. Very interesting they shot these scenes at the Brickell Key Condo- not set up shot for the Season 1 episode but there was for the Season 4 episode. I visited the Brickell Key Condo last year (exterior only - photos above)

Matt5
An overview of the Miccosukee village we see a lot in this episode, shot mid December 1987. There are a couple of scenes like when the Chief talks to his son before he goes off in the boat that I believe where filmed just off the main area to the right. Read through this thread, there was a discussion and Dadrian figured out that it was the same place as Dale Menton's place in Golden Triangle. It's located on Brickell Key.

Tom
9:5 that this last unknown location was filmed somewhere inside the Orange Bowl underbelly at a delivery ramp. Beside the convenience (teaser was filmed there as well) and the absence of any other locations for that purpose in the episode there are plenty of clues: the garage-like sliding door, the very high ceiling and the typical white long cross beams seen here are very good indicators. 100% proof is impossible as there are no pics of the delivery ramps and the Orange Bowl, home of 5 Super Bowls, was torn down in 2008. In my photos below I show some of the similarities.
Tom
While we´re at it: Levec´s house was at 39 Star Island Drive and has a weird history. It was bought in 1986 by Gloria Estefan, completely renovated, then used in December 87 in "Indian Wars" ad then demolished shortly after. The only picture we have is from "Free Verse" (filmed in late Feb86) where VICE raided the neighbor house, the Al Fassi Estate at 37/38 Star Island that was used as the torture hideaway for Guerrero. My picture comparison is the only reminder of this great location that had one of the best neon looks of all VICE houses. The difference between the filthy state in Feb 86 and the fancy renovated state in Dec 87 is amazing!
Tom
The scenes when the Indian commandoes land at the village and Joe Dan meets his father at the airboat pier next to the huts were filmed just north of the main village, on the other side of SW 8 Street (the camera that filmed Tubbs arriving at the village by car at the beginning of the episode was positioned on the bridge leading from SW 8th to the northern village part). That is easy to determine, as these scenes were filmed at sunset, sun is behind them in the west and there is lot of "open water" visible which excludes all areas south of SW 8th accordingly. The pier was stretched out to the west (I believe the pier has been replaced since then, we have no aerial from 1986 for that area). The commando landing scene (Please click on the pic to see the full panorama view I assembled with three separate pics) was most likely filmed between the long pier we see and the canal/SW8 Street (which can be seen at one point behind Joe Dan as is the High roof of the Miccosukee main village south of Tamiami Trail in the background). When the commandoes land we also can see sunset in the west behind them. Edited May 5, 2021 by Tom
Tom
It flashed me today that in "Hard Knocks" we also saw scenes filmed in the underbelly of the Orange Bowl Stadium. I counterchecked with that episode and found a scene in the teaser where we clearly see evidence that the garage scene in Indian Wars was filmed inside the Orange Bowl. The vertical and horizontal columns, the high ceiling with lamps and the brick pattern wall matches in both episodes as the picture below clearly shows.
Tom
When finding the last Badge of dishonor location today with help of an old Bud Spencer movie, I also found that it had nice scenes of the Orange Bowl underbelly we see in Indian Wars. Gate 7B. See stills below. Sorry it´s blurry still after enhancing as it is an old movie and my copy was not exactly BluRay... the hint was from a German location site for Bud Spencer movies that comes close to @C Glide´s accuracy! https://spencerhilldb.de/locations.php?drehort=9&lang=2
Tom
Joe Dan´s apartment in Boca (Apt A1207, Brickell One, 520 Brickell Key Drive; THEN (1987) and now (2018) - also used in Golden Triangle for Dale Menton´s apartment https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/520-Brickell-Key-Dr-Apt-A1207_Miami_FL_33131_M69228-62445 Clearly recognizable in details, but overall what a pity! The apartment is the same size as then, but looked much bigger than it is (1137 square feet/120m2). They made a wall left of the balcony door where Joe Dan jumped out (in the episode he walked from the long window to the second window in a separate room and there was a second balcony door in between. See my photo comparison below. We can recreate all scenes in this episode. The last pic shows the entrance where Tubbs&Castillo entered and where the famous switchboard was. The coolest apartment in the series is a nice memory and the whole Brickell One building seems run down and the pool is defunct. Sad look. Tom
Exterior match of Joe Dan´s apartment A1207 that also shows the desperate state (Google Aerial) vs. the better past (realtor shot)
Tom
And some older interior pics (the apartment was built in 1982, has been sold 9(!) times in the last 28 years. Price dropped to 187k USD in 1993, went up to 500k in 2013 when it was renovated and has dropped since then to 380k. That low price for a top Miami location is reflecting the run down state of the whole complex that looks like it will be torn down for whatever reason) that better show how small the apartment is compared to the look on TV by use of lots of mirrors that all have been removed since then late 80s. Tom
In reference to the discussion we had in the Prodigal Son´s thread about location of airboat scenes and Coopertown airboat types used: We can also see in Indian Wars that they filmed these scenes close to and south of Tamiami Trail, given the sun direction and the street in the background. I magnified and highlighted the background where there is a long horizontal even construction that is only explainable with SW 8 Street. The topology of the scene shows lots of elevated (high) hammocks which is also significant because quite rare and could help to pinpoint the exact location, together with the big portion of open water shown here. of course, the Glades and its hammock changes over decades, but there is only one area close to Coopertown airboats and south of SW 8 that has enough open water for such a scene and the correct distance (1km/0.7 mile) to the street. Near the Miccosukee Village I see no fitting open water areas anywhere near. (only a few small ones north of the Village where they filmed the father/son/landing scenes as pointed out by me earlier). The latter fact of lacking open water terrain might be the reason why most airboat scenes were filmed at Coopertown with their boats and not near the Indian village (same goes for Prodigal son by the way). The airboat explosion and the end of the scene was filmed close to sunset whereas the beginning was filmed in late afternoon (see sun on half of the face of the blown up guy in the airboat), thus it is easy to pinpoint the exact N/S direction and confirm the location of SW8 Street in the background. Now, it´s up on @daytona365to show us the exact location. He will for sure be able to find traces of the blown up airboat body on Google as he was able to find the brick imprints on the studio floor months after Smuggler´s blues was filmed. TylerDurden389
Wonder if the price for the Brickell apt. is gonna go down after the tragedy at Surfside. I'd imagine no one in the market to buy in Miami is gonna go anywhere near a building built before 2000.
