Interesting post.On my last trip to Miami back in Feb 2011 we saw a seaplane on Watson Island. We also saw one in Feb 2010 on an earlier boat trip, here is the photo. Chalks did not survive a fatal crash and the facility was vacant when we visited Watson Is in 2009 but it looks like seaplane service is back in business. I think seaplanes are an outstanding concept and beautiful craft, imagining the maintenance on them has to be extensive. I'd heard they were no longer really being produced, making them into a rarity. Hope that's not the case.
