We have the Mad Max Interceptor in Niagara!Yes a buddy of mine was obsessed with the movie and bought a Falcon from Australia and built everything for the car on his own. He used to freeze frame the vhs tape...yes I`m not kidding... to get the detail to each part of the car. He built the rear deck spoiler and made the blower drive fully functional with the slipt shift on the shifter and painted it just like in the movie. Every detail is so exact that I remember the story where he went to the Barrie swap meet and saw a set of tires that were eight tread(like in the movie) and he had a set of tens treads. He offered the guy an even trade and cash just to have the exact original tires that were in the movie. The car is absolutely remarkable and can be seen on almost any friday night at cruise night in Welland at the mall parking lot or sometimes on Lundy`s Lane in Niagara Falls on a sunday night when all the other hot rods come out to play. It`s quite a head turner actually and the tourists love it! He hangs with another pal of mine Frank who has an original 69 Firebird with a six pack. Both cars are remarkable, for you piston heads out there...

ah I recognize that car' date=' thats a C4 based daytona replica, meaning its based on the wedge C4 that had just come out in 1984 when the show started:[img']http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8a/1984_Corvette.jpgnot the C3 like the daytonas in the show that was made from 68 to 82'Eingefügtes Bildhence why the car looks really off compaired to the one in the show and the seats dont even protrude over the rear of the car like they do with the C3's and its actually the one I came across for the pilot daytona striping example I used awhile back when flickr was working right (but for some reason the searches are screwed up right now, some sort of merdger with yahoo)so its definitely NOT the mv caranyways back ontopic here but the odd thing about that entry looking at it again is that it says its a 74' when its not, its a 73 XB GT Coupe, probably a minor typoand reason why I was looking at it is because the interceptor is coming back for the new film. http://www.madmaxmovies.com/mad-max-4-fury-road/fury-road-cars/fury-road-interceptor/index.htmlwhich judging by its looks is probably going to be an inbetween of the first two films. after all I always kind of wondered what the hell happened in that timespan between the first two films that we went from civlization to barbarianizmn and yet the interceptor and the other cars despite the damage and the dirt didnt seem that old or worn compaired to when we saw them last.and we didnt really get a good explanation for this either as the second film didnt even have the title mad max in the states, it was just called the road warrior so I get the feeling the only reason they had that intro sequence explaining that the world had gone to hell was for the americans as a jumping on point who hadnt seen the first film back in 79'

Thanks KAVINSKY, for the technical info on the Daytona. I remmember years ago seeing a Daytona body kit, you could get from England I think, that fitted a Nissan 260Z. I assume all these different body kits boomed with Miami Vice. But back on topic, I had heard rumours a while back of a new MAd MAx film but did not know how far along it was.

I ment the daytona aussiefan posted a link to with this, this one which is a Chevy Corvette C4 based ferrari daytona replica http://inventory.dezercollection.com/1973-ferrari-daytona-miami-vice-car-c-507.htm not the ford falcon but nonetheless to do that from scratch is pretty god damn impresive, he must have really loved the car to do that much work on it.

I love the pic of the Holden!!!! Wow quite a rat rod for sure! It's the little green link button in the middle of the text of the Mad max description...check it out! http://www.madmaxmovies.com/mad-max-4-fury-road/fury-road-cars/fx-holden-ute/index.html

ah that thing, yeah it looks like there going all out when it comes to the car designs as when compaired to the old films nowadays those customs from the first two seem downright tame.although it looks like they've got fuel injection sitting under a supercharger, which is connected to 3 carbs that are connected to the pipes so I gotta wonder if its going to be like the interceptor in the first two films with the fake blower or if it'll all really work.and if it does wouldnt it basically tear the ladder chasis appart with all of that power?

Man, how did I miss this before? There was something for everyone in that video, missed the Mad Max car but saw the Bettie Page photo with two cheetahs, rowr!I hope Fury Road is finished. Has gone kind of silent lately. If this Dark Blood movie with River Phoenix can be finished, so can Fury Road.A year ago when I was on one of my Mad Max binges I was seriously thinking about going to Wasteland Weekend but then I thought maybe not..
