Why Rico&Trudy wasn't more relotionship like Sonny&Gina and why Zito out ?

I'd have loved to see some more romances with Gina or/and Trudy. Gina ist really beautiful.As far as I know Zito (John Diehl) was not happy with his minor role in Miami Vice so he quit. He more or less hoped for a breakthrough in the film industry as he gained some popularity up to that point.

My opinion...Not that Rico and Trudy would have been a bad couple, but I thought it was more realistic that they were just good friends. Pairing off all the Vice cops romantically would have been a bit too cliched. After all, in real life not everyone falls in love handily with their workmates

Tubbs screwed up when he wouldn't kiss Trudy when she made the first move and he was to stupid to figure it out. I think this was in the episode where Tubbs was going undercover to go into prison. Later when Trudy was undercover as a street walker Tubbs tried to get Trudy to kiss him, but she said something to the effect "You had your chance".

I think that Rico and Trudy would have been a nice couple, atleast for awhile, but it's good that they stayed just friends.Among other things, John Diehl wanted to do more theater when he left VICE.In my opinion VICE was never the same without him.And what became of Switek after Zito's death.I think that Diehl should have stayed and never left, but he had he's reasons.

On one hand I think that Rico and Trudy didn´t suit well to each other. Trudy always seemed to be very cool while Rico had been a bit boyish... from time to time.On the other hand I could imagine that the makers had thought to make more of this relationship in a later season, but this season never was made.
