This shows that you need a lot of parking space close to locations to accommodate all cast and crew involved Thanks for the photo. You’re absolutely right about the need for lots of parking on location shoots. I had a friend who worked in location scouting in San Diego for the 90’s series Silk Stalkings. She said sufficient nearby parking was more often than not the dealbreaker when a location was finalized. If it HAD to be at that location and there wasn’t enough they had to arrange for multiple shuttle vans to bring cast and crew to the set, adding extra time and expense. That often numbered over 100 people and much more if many extras were needed. I would add “guest” to the actor comment above. Most of the regulars, and certainly the stars, had their own trailers, whereas a honey wagon had several small rooms and bathrooms.

Excellent director on the show, some of them were not perfect but "Little Miss Dangerous" and "Killshot" are 10's in my eyes. "Rising Sun of Death" for season 4 standards is pretty good, very stylish. Great picture! Edited February 2, 2023 by RedDragon86

I once heard that Elvis was sedated in all scenes, because such an alligator is not harmless after all. That's why the animal rights activists are said to have grumbled. Whether there is something to it, I do not know of course.

That's why the animal rights activists are said to have grumbled. Whether there is something to it, I do not know of course. Elvis was not sedated, that would have been cruel and against the animal treatment guidelines. It is by the way very hard to sedate an alligator through the thick skin and almost impossible with pills. Also, Charlie Guanci, the animal handler of the series, would never have done this and lost his license over that. He confirmed in interviews and also in the MV book that Elvis´ mouth was fully taped whenever actors were around. I fact, alligators cannot be trained, but the mouth of an alligator is his main weapon. Once you neutralize that, you got him well under control. Elvis ran away a few times and jumped into the water, but they were able to catch him. Guanci also said that invoking reactions from an alligator is pretty simple and his bandwidth of behaviour is not very sophisticated. If you want him to turn around to the left, you pull his tail and he will instinctively turn around to see what´s bothering him. The same on the right. That´s pretty much it. If you watch the scenes with Elvis closely, you can even see the tape around his mouth in some scenes. And in most scenes he has a thick chain around his neck. Tom
vor 23 Minuten schrieb RedDragon86: Did Don takeover from the Dutch director? I read somewhere that they didn't get on. DJ directed many scenes of episodes in late 1987, especially the OCB scenes in episodes like Big Thaw and God´s work (that happened earlier as well, e.g. in "one way ticket" where newbie writer/director Craig Bolotin directed on paper only). That is well documented. I never heard about a conflict between Dj and Ate de Jong, but the Dutch director simply directed mostly on paper only. BTW: Ate de Jong is the guy behind DJ, the one looking the other way. He doesn´t seem to be very interested in the scene anyway Edited February 7, 2023 by Tom
