Greatest (non 80s) songs

This is one of the few today's bands that I can stand :) They got an '80s funk sound going for them!

King Crimson with Robert Fripp, John Wetton and Bill Bruford will always be the complete King Crimson line up in my ears.

These guys went on and produced some of the most stunningly beautiful music as an trio between 1972-1974 and their final 70s album Red (1974) might just be one of the finest albums ever released.

Wetton did not have the voice of Greg Lake but damn he could play the bass.

One of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs and the guitar solo by Buckingham at the end are legendary.

Fantastic cover version of Fleetwood Mac's The Green Manalishi by Judas Priest.

The greatest song of all time, in my opinion.

The day the music died - 3rd of February, 1959.

ABBA - Arrival is such a stunning tune and even today it gives me the shivers.

Another ABBA classic, but for once its not sung by the lovely Ann-Frid or Agnetha but Bjorn as the lead vocal, anyway I guess its by now best remebered for being the song that Rowan Atkinson sings to in his shower in the film Johnny English:D

Two great tunes that was inspired by ABBA:

Throbbing Gristle might be more known for their "experimental" stuff instead of beatiful and hypnotic instrumentals like this one.

AB/7A is their tribute to ABBA and includes several samples of ABBA's hits put together.

Paddy McAloon's teenage crush on Agnetha Fältskog later became known as The Ice Maiden from their 1990 masterpiece Jordan: The Comeback.

The classic tale of being in love with someone who doesent even know you exist.

Standing on the boulevard
I've always known your name
You're the Ice Maiden
Let you and I grow frosty together

I remember Album of the Year by Faith No More very well and when it came out in summer 1997 as a lot of critics were pretty brutal in their reviews and some even went on trashin it.

Yeah it might not be one of their best albums but with class tunes like Ashes to Ashes, Stripsearch, Last Cup of Sorrow, Pristina and Collision its no near as bad as it was painted back in 97.

"The European cannon is here"

10 minutes and 15 seconds of pure perfection, a real monster tune.

For me this is Bowie's finest hour and he sure was on fire back in the 70s.

Station to Station (1976) is a majestic album that I never get tired of.

A beautiful cover version of the Nina Simone classic and a perfect way to end an album with.

I've been playing "Personality" for almost a year, after someone asked for it at a gig. Everybody loves this great Lloyd Price hit!
