S.FL84
This has probably already been posted but it bears repeating. https://www.miamiherald.com/entertainment/tv/article2261012.html http://morttagua.atozviews.com/watch/cllrdd8dq2q5u6u0hay3y0u6u.html In 1984 on this very spot it was sooooo filled w/ people DJ had to be escorted in by police officers. Now no one gives a sh#@ and the space is for rent. Jeez how times have changed. I bet it cost $100 just to get in the door this night (see attach.)!

W/out the originals it just won't work. The only that would work is a one-off one-time reunion w/ some modern terrorism/narco kinda plot they all reunite to defeat. Even that would NEVER have the same impact as MV. I regret even suggesting it now in hindsight. Its odd how the internet has made life seem so dull and uninteresting while its made communication so much easier. i don't agree with the Tubbs & Crockett being the messiah theory. like if anything would fall apart after them. with creativity, and a good plot anything is possible. look Blade runner 2049. we don't even know we are going to see H. Ford at some point. and when we see him, it's just a mind blowing moment. when we discover how well the movie plot has been mounted
S.FL84
If I won the lottery I'd lease that club, bring it back to it's 1985 exact condition and throw one helluva 80's/MV reunion in the exact same spot the original MV party was held and pay the original cast members to be there for one last hurrah celebrating THE most fun decade of all time. I'd hire as many 80's bands that I could and have THE best time I've ever had in my life. Jeez that'd be so much fun. It would be a good way to finish up some loose ends, etc. Plus we'd get to see what they've all been doing with their lives since 1989. Thats exactly what I've been saying re: this whole "reboot" issue. The one and ONLY thing that would work is a FINAL CHAPTER kinda thing. Sonny & Gena would get married and Rico would be a retired high ranking NYPD who moved back to Miami to retire. I realize this probably won't happen but its the only way IMO any revisit of MV would have the slightest chance of working.

A shame I didn’t realise Mansion was now for lease and empty, featured in the Miami Vice Pilot, Streetwise, Knock Knock...Who’s There?, Death and the Lady, Deliver us from Evil and the 2006 Miami Vice movie. chum981
As much as it hurts writing this, I don't think a reboot is a good idea especially with all the original actors. In my opinion, we already saw a decline in Miami Vice from Season 1+2 to Seasons 3, 4 and 5. I think MV got worse over time, so I don't think a reboot of trying to recreate Season 1 and 2 would work. Any reboot would probably end up looking like just another cop show that happens to be set in Miami so it won't be so special. I highly doubt networks would want the whole cast to be over 50s and so we wouldn't get the whole original cast. Maybe DJ as the boss and the rest of the team to be new actors...but even then, it doesn't seem like an investment worth making for networks. Sometimes it's best to have great memories and not try to recreate them. What may be better is if Michael Mann creates a new TV show.

Amen, but the re-boot fanatics in producers offices who lack creativity for new ideas but have lots of imaginary dollar bills in their head won‘t listen to us. S.FL84
Exactly like the current MPI remake. Its a show out of time and all the "iraq war vets" touchy feely MPI reincarnations ain't gonna make it anywhere near what MPI was because that was the 80's , the fabulous 80's, and it doesn't fit now. The current crop of Hollywood's "I'm a big boy now and I make a hit show just like daddy did back in 1980" doesnt get it. YouTube killed the Big Three networks and its not coming back. Bruce Springsteen had a song "57 channels and nothing on" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAlDbP4tdqc) which typifies today's TV perfectly. And he did that in freakin' '92! All I wan't is a MV final chapter w/ the original cast so we can all leave this life w/out anything undone. Robbie C.
In many ways you could do worse than watching NCIS: LA. The show's creator specifically said he was trying for a Miami Vice feel, and one of the producers is our old friend Frank Military ("Nobody Lives Forever" and also wrote a few MV episodes). The other thing that would make a reboot hard would be writing. I just don't know if it could be done.

Robbie C.
Yeah. He's been active on that show for a few years now. The whole vibe is most notable when the characters interact.
