Sonny-Burnett Posted December 14, 2022 Report Share Posted December 14, 2022 I don't think it was practical for Ferrari to seek out one of the extremely costly and rare Daytona convertibles in black produced in the early 70s for the show, as even then (80s) they were going for a significantly high price tag. As to why Ferrari sued various replicar manufacturers I think it was more to do with protecting its Brand from copycats, and lessening the value of their current models. My recollection is that Ferrari also considered suing Universal but decided to offer the exchange of its flagship Testarossas for the "destruction" of the 2 replicars. That way the show wins by having a genuine Ferrari and so does Ferrari who gains product placement on a top rated TV program. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
