The more I read the more I think I should change this topic's title to "SROBAK MEMORIES!" ;)

I was actually thinking of making a new thread on him, but......he doesn't deserve the honor of a thread of his own.

Sorry Pal...my memories have seem to have faded???I joined just before the sh!t hit the fan...so to speak. I have only a few good things to say such as meeting you and Ferrariman and Timm and then it was abandon ship to come here where I have had a great time!I can honestly say all I recall was the turmoil and the fear that I had found a site where I thought I felt comfortable and had knowledge it might all come tumbling down and all the material would be lost in cyberspace forever.(thus my immediate departure to this fabulous site)

My memmories of .org have faded as well. It was the second web forum I had ever joined. I never had the "pleasure" of chatting with SROBAK, but had heard about him. I did have a few encounters with RB. Mostly calling me "stupid" for daring to ask a question about how MV could have been better. Funny coincidence about .org and the first website I ever joined: Right before the crap hit the fan at .org, the first website I joined was going through a civil war as well. I ended up getting banned because the owner didn't like how popular I was. Fortunately, a couple of members had been putting together a new forum and that was up in two weeks. This was only 2 months before F-Man was banned. Once I saw the handwriting on the wall with his banning, I didn't hesitate to join here and rarely went back to .org mostly because every time I tried, I would get the all too familliar SERVICE UNAVAILABLE.

Remember RB's computer animation of Don Johnson literally beating a dead horse? How about his animation when someone got banned how he made a headstone with the member's name on it.

Yes, he truly was in awe of how clever he was.

nothing unites people like a common hatred! but seriously, i checked .org only a couple of times after i discovered my love for MV 3-4 years ago. I never really saw anything malicious going on but probably because i checked the site about three times until "not available" messages started to pop out.

You know, I PM'd back and forth with Rick before I banned him. I don't remember his exact words but he more or less told me that if I felt it was necessary for the good of the site then to go ahead and ban him, no hard feelings. He said if I wanted he would even carve his own name on a tombstone! We discussed a lot of things back then but we just couldn't come to an agreement with how things should be handled. It was a very civil discussion, not the nasty, underhanded backstabbing that he and his followers made it out to be. However, once I was called a liar by Tif & martijn, I called their bluff by posting Rick's PM's to me for everyone to see. The reply of course was his usual foul-mouthed rant against me. One on one he was ok to talk to but I guess once he had an audience, he felt he had to perform.

ah yes... .org, oh happy memories. I became member when I was actually living in Miami, hence my screenname: mennoinmiami. It had the Jukebox, it had a bit of locations, it had tons of cool people and threats, and Bravo was not such a jackass in those days. Those were happy days. In all fairness, Bravo made it possible for me to visit a lot of Vice locations, also thanks to his cool website. Also thanks to DanJ amongst others, who put a lot of effort finding vice locations.then, of course, the shit hit the fan big time. After all these years, I still dont exactly know what was the turning point that made Bravo from a hero into a complete zero. Out of nothing, he was bashing Don Johnson, and he did not understand that people on a FAN board would defend the shows hero. Seriously what did he expect? That we all started hating DJ, and become Bravo fans? Well some looneys actually did, like Srobak and some other nutjobs, but 99% naturally chose the shows hero for obviousl reasons. All things considered, the good memories are what remain mostly. Nowadays, i am a married man and very busy with my profesional life. In 2005 I was a student with plenty of freetime. Times have changed, and I dont post that often anymore. I miss it, but I am happy to see that the Ferrariman kept such a high standard of this website. We owe him big time, without a doubt. he saved our vicefandom lives basically, because if it was upto the Bravos, there would be no MV fansite anymore probably, unless we bash DJ.All in all, good to reread the stories. Me and Mr C. were probably one of the main causes of the 08 clash, and I do feel guilty about it, looking back at it, despite still thinking we did the right thing (sounds a bit paradoxal). We defended the Vicefan against the Bravofans, and we felt we had the right to do it, eventhough we always kept it as respectful as possible, despite numerous accusations and threats (If you come to Miami, I will be the first to know when you arrive according to cop Bravo....etc) anyways, good to read the stories. I still have a great friend in Mr C. it is something I cherish very much, as well as the memories from .org and .info

When it came to Rick Bravo, (being nasty, and a bully in the later years) let's face it, there was a wealth of information from this guy. He had what seemed like a never ending supply of photos he took on the set with his camera, and posted them for us. (can you imagine all the photos that we never got to see??) One-of-a-kind photos that are the only ones like it in existance. His information about the show, and locations were incredible. Let's face it, we learned a lot from him when it came to MIAMI VICE, and I'm still grateful to what he brought. ......I just wish I knew what made him be mean, and a bully. Could he be bipolar? Seriously, is this possible? He jumped on me once for asking if he could answer a question.I had posted a question on his thread asking something. It was not answered, so, when I saw him online two weeks later asking if he could answer the question, he replied something like (not sure of the exact words, but it was something like this), "Hey, I just got online. You expect me to jump everytime someone asks a question? Why don't you wait a minute and stop being so pushy?" I replied,"O.k. .......but I posted this question two weeks ago."He replied,"Oh, o.k., I didn't notice that."Could he be bipolar?

Yeah, he seemed to be angry at everything, and every question, like we were putting him out.

I have to agree that no matter how bad things became, I could never overlook what he brought to the site. His pictures and stories were truly some incredible stuff! I remember when I honored his request to remove his section of the forum. I got so much hate mail for doing that. Everybody thought I deleted everything. Little did they know that his section was simply hidden from sight. This also goes to show how incompetant tif & martijn were. If they knew the inner workings of the forum they could've brought his section back when RB was invited back to the site.

I must admit that, once it became obvious "evil Rick" was here to stay, I got a HUGE kick out of trying to set him off. Not very mature, I know. But Menno hit it on the head, his expectation that people would stop being DJ fans and start being Rick fans was ludicrous, and he and his minions became worthy of parody. You can only dance around a rabid dog so much before you say screw it and throw him a tainted steak.

CLASSIC!!!! P.S. Ferrariman, you did the right thing removing him because of the way he treated people. It took a steel pair of stones to do that, but you did the right thing.

the guy who videotapes the cops. My comment was deleted and I got a warning PM from the lovely srobak. Which I saved for posterity. It reads:" Viceman, I am only going to address this issue with you ONCE. If you push the matter, then I will simply deal with it permanently. You are more than welcome to come to this site and be a contributing member, or even a leach. But understand - do NOT under any circumstance come here to stir up any crap or trouble. I will not tolerate it, and neither will Marty or Tif. I have removed your post aimed at Rick. I have also removed his, and will be addressing him individually as I am you. Do not return to this site with an agenda. I understand you are hurt. So be it. However, DEAL with it. In time you will understand that what has transpired was for the best interests of this site. Behave here until then. If you want to cause a fuss - do it elsewhere. This is my only attempt at resolving the issue nicely with you. If you want to discuss this, or any other issues you have - feel free to send them to my PM, or to Marty's. I am copying him on this message so he is aware of the message deletion and the advisement. -scr"

And someone else called him a lunatic...now you see...a camera working dressed a cop with bi problems...now I see why...Anyway....on the good old days of the nice guy, many stories were told, but since we saw few two weights and two measures cases told by our users, which stories are the true ones or which ones were changed to protect the unfaithfuls?

i wonder, how many of the posters from org. actually made their way over here when things started to get ugly/after .org was dead? do you guys miss someone in particular who didn't make the transition here?

Just about everyone who was anyone eventually made the leap. The few that didn't had already disappeared from .org.On the flipside, once the word was out, members who liked what they found here contacted other friends who had left .org because of the fighting. This brought many missing members back to enjoy Miami Vice without the drama!

This is a rather close knit group of members here. Many have met, some have dated, some are like pen pals. You get to know someone fairly well when you write on a site that someone has been on for years. You learn their interests, moods, and life stories. We are what made .org great, and now, we are what makes this site even greater!
