Guest neworder
Not sure if this has been brought up yet but ive read this a few times on numourous sites and i think its time i made peeps aware of it.It seems the creator of the CSI tv shows (Jerry Bruckheimer) and the creator of the Bad Boys movies (Michael Bay) are teaming up to produce a new TV series inspired by the Cocaine cowboys documentary, here's how the snippet reads..."A HBO television series inspired by "Cocaine Cowboys" is in the works, with Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay serving as executive producers. “Cowboys†chronicles the early days of cocaine trafficking in Miami. It is being produced by Warner Bros. Television, where Jerry Bruckheimer TV is based"Could be the closest thing to Miami Vice today, besides the movie of course..SJB

Mr. Calderon
Hmmm...Correct me if im wrong but... Mr. Blablaheimer wasnt the guy involved in "Just Legal"? But sounds great for me such idea!
Guest neworder
He was indeed, and although that was a failure, other stuff under his belt includes all the CSIs, Con Air, Pirates of the Caribbean, pearl harbour, black hawk down... the list goes on, and these have all done pretty well... Mr. Calderon
Now imagine if he knows Don already, and will make such Cowboy movie? Hmmm.... Unhopefully he wont be SC but a new role in a series happening in the 80´s?
airtommy
Nice idea, but Jerry Bruckenheimer is the worst.

airtommy
They need Michael Mann dont they lolThat would be nice, but frankly I'd settle for anyone but Bruckheimer. He's so cheesy.

Guest neworder
Bruckheimer will burn in hell for inflicting the horrific godawful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise on usNow now, im 2/3rds in agreement with you there because the first was a classic. The 2nd and 3rd ones though were god awful.
Tommy Vercetti
Classic? Maybe if you like watching sellout Johnny Depp's appalling hammy panto acting, anorexic Ikea Sh!teley's wooden pouting and Orloondo Bland's colossal ineptitude
Tommy Vercetti
And also, Con Air is a contender for the most stupid and implausible movie ever made. I suppose it could happen. But back to the original point, the director Cocaine Cowboys is doing lots of follow-ups and TV spinoffs of it. Maybe Bruckheimer and Bay are producing them. And I heard Hollywood was planning to make a movie about Jon Roberts and Mickey Munday with Mark Wahlberg and I forget who else in the part. Scarface was the definite movie made about that era of crime. It was made at the time and you couldn't top it methinks. Also Miami looks different now than it did in the '80s. It would be hard to recreate what it was like in those days. There are many more skyscrapers in downtown and Brickell now and South Beach has been restored. Although they managed it with Las Vegas in Casino. They remade the old Vegas even though it looks like Disneyland today. Bugsy Siegel would be spinning in his grave at what's happened to his town. But Bruckheimer would probably film it in California. He can't even be bothered making CSI Miami in Miami. Guest neworder
But Bruckheimer would probably film it in California. He can't even be bothered making CSI Miami in Miami. That really pisses me off, ive found though that Season 1/2 of CSI Miami are filmed a lot more on location in Miami, which is why i only really watch these seasons of CSI Miami (plus the recent seasons have been ****e of what ive seen anyway, too many stupid quotes from Horatio followed by sunglasses being put on, why its the most popular TV show in the world based on how many viewers a TV show gets beats me, is everyone in the world really that stupid?).p.s Con Air is a right barrel of laughs because its so unbelieveable. Noogy
Nice idea' date=' but Jerry Bruckenheimer is the worst.[/quote']Ditto. Given the standard of what he has done with movies, i fear what he could do on TV...
Guest neworder
Jeez some of you guys really dont like him...Just be happy that finally after the hundreds of 'lets bring back miami vice' topics on this site and .org, ive finally found as close a solution as possible to a new Miami Vice coming to our screens. I mean lets face it, the orginal vice isn't coming back in its original TV form, and if it did it would be **** like the new Knight Rider TV show. Obviously Bruckenheimer must be good at something, all his movies are immensely popular at the box office and his TV shows are popular too, as ive already stated CSI Miami is the most watched TV show on the planet at the moment.SJB
Frey
Bruckheimer will burn in hell for inflicting the horrific godawful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise on usNah. He redeemed himself with Black Hawk Down and (my personal JB favorite)
agent 47
Tommy, glad you think Pirates Of The Carribean sucks too. By the way, your game is the greatest videogame ever made. Edited May 4, 2016 by agent 47 Still is the greatest game ever made.
Tommy Vercetti
Thanks dude. You've got great taste. And Vice City does rule supreme
Lar
The best thing Bruckheimer's been involved with is Top Gun. Not high art by any means, but a d*mn good movie. IMO.Still, this show does sound close enough to MV for me to watch it.And CSI: Miami? Bah. I watched it a lot it's first few years, but honestly, I couldn't even make it through this season's premiere. I'll take MV anyday.
Burnett1292
Hey, did you guys realize that JB produced none other than Michael Mann's first feature. That's right, JB produced Thief. Go figure. It will be interesting to see if they can make a show that is still viable in todays television market, seeming as the day and age of the Cocaine Cowboy has come and gone. I do agree though, that this will be a moldern day version of MV if it succeeds. Not so much in the way of being such a pop culture hit as opposed to being a tale of those 80's Miami days. Mr. Calderon
Well...not trying to make a very strong noise but....that MV movie by Mann....oh man....argh!
Noogy
TO WHOEVER IS IN CHARGE HERE (yes i'm YELLING on purpose)Where are my posts? It is the 2nd time in one week that some of my posts have been erased. This has never happened to me on any forum in 10 years of using the internet. I wasn't disrespectful to anyone, i didn't curse, i wasn't being aggressive so why on earth would my posts be erased????? I just gave my opinion regarding MV lookalikes, how is this a problem? I will not tolerate a forum where censorship is being implemented wrongly .
Administrators Ferrariman Posted December 28, 2008 Administrators Report Share Posted December 28, 2008 Don't know what you're talking about Noogy. I'm the man here and I wouldn't delete your posts. That's .org's latest practice. What and where exactly did you post? I asked the other admins and they haven't deleted anything. Are you sure you didn't post in a different topic? I've done that before.

Go figure.[/quote']Confession time: I haven't seen Thief, or very many Michael Mann productions at all. In fact, as far as his movies go, I have Manhunter, but never got around to watching it, and I have MV 2006. Despite my serious lack of familiarity with Mann's work (I hear Heat is fantastic), I still greatly admire him, just from what I have seen. The fact that JB had a hand in Mann's first feature is very cool, and I'm no JB fan (Con Air was a fun time killer, I love Top Gun, CSI: Miami on VERY select occasions, that's about it).
