But Coop has been gone now for close to 4 months and I'm just naturally curious as to why. I find it hard to believe that his "let's say personality" would allow him to stay away this long just to get a rise out of us. My question then is, does anyone on the site have contact with him other than here? Facebook, twitter, telephone, etc.? Lar Posted May 5, 2013 Report Share Posted May 5, 2013 Unfortunately, beyond this forum and the PM box, I didn't/don't have any way to contact him.But, as I said a few months back on the "Where's Coop?" thread, his unexplained absence is definitely alarming, even more so now. Even if he were going on a trip, taking a leave, pissed at someone, etc., he was so heavily involved with this site that I just can't see him up and leaving without giving some kind of a heads up. Even in the .ws/.org "switch-up", he let them know he wouldn't be updating his section there anymore (and preferred it be taken down, though that didn't happen). Of course, that was a different situation, but he still let them know.I pray it's not due to an illness or worse and this whole thing can be easily explained, but frankly, I'm worried. We know he's been sick before. On the other hand, C&B tends to be pretty private in some areas, so maybe it's something else, and he just hasn't felt like dropping in. Also, Fman, I believe in people's privacy as well, but if you know his real name, maybe you could try to contact him by phone? Or is that going too far? I sent him my email address should he want to contact off site, but nothing.I am seriously concerned but thought perhaps he'd contacted Fman privately. I'm praying nothing horrible has happened. He loved everything about Miami Vice and contributed so many pictures and items to be auctioned or given to members that it seems impossible that he could be so angry as not to let his fellow leaders on the site know his problem. I pray that nothing really serious has happened to him and wish that a family member of his would go on his computer and post something to let his many friends on this site know of his condition.I told my wife that if anything happened to me to let people on here know, since you are all like family.I think COOP had a celebration with family around Christmas, but they may not even know how involved he is with .ws.Again, I pray to hear good news about COOP. I had 2 white ones and he had 2 black. (I was actually surprised to have something he didn't!) The address I mailed it to was a P.O. box. He helped me recoup some of the costs for making the MV fan buttons two or so years ago and I donated the proceeds and had enough left over for some giveaways. He didn't want anything in return. I remember the envelope had no return address on it and it was postmarked from CA. I have been tempted to do some hardcore internet sleuthing for our MIA Coop so many times. I know he is the last person in the world you would ever suspect of this kind of burnout. But I remember other really dedicated hard core members like Arzola and Little Miss Dangerous who practically lived on the Vice site and just disappeared one day. I have tried looking at real estate pictures of gated communities to see if any of them look similar to what he has posted, just to try and find a lead. I too pray that he is just caught up in real life, and that he will post here again soon... but the longer his absence goes on the more worried I am. Whether he's posting here or not, his health is what's most important (as I'm sure anyone would agree).But, he's got so many friends here that appreciate what he does, that I just can't see him leaving the site, at least not without a single word.Maybe he's gearing up for a "super update"?
