Hmmm...

Maybe said more than once, but for sure, once was when Evan dares Guzman to shoot him at the shipyard prenuptials.

And Crockett at the end of Freefall. "Do it. If you got the stones".

Yeah, it sure was. That's one of the reasons I picked it.

Yep, that's one of them, but not the one I'm thinking of.

So these are the only two words in the sentence? No conditions?

No, it's part of a sentence, part of a confrontation between a main character and a bad guy.

As in Vanessa telling Tubbs, “You can’t do it” at the weak ending of “Great McCarthy”?

is this meant to be the beginning of a sentence, and is it a complete sentence?

End of the snetence and yes, it is a complete sentence.

Meaning it is a phrase that is part of a larger sentence?

Assuming it is part of sentence as in     "...do it"

Crockett was lecturing Margaret in Prodigal Son. "Don't do it".

Huh? If these 2 words are a complete sentence then I don't know what you mean by "end of a sentence".

It's either a complete sentence or it is a phrase that is part of a larger sentence.

Sorry if you were confused. I meant that it is part of a sentence and ends it as an independent clause and I meant "it's not a phrase" as in it's not a clean cut phrase. The sentence structure is like this: "---, do it.". Not that the two words are a complete sentence.

It’s starting to sound Castillo-ish.

It does, don't it? :), but you're in the right field of characters.

The sleeze mechanic in “Smuggler’s Blues” when Jimmy the pilot tells the guy to drop the gun?

I came up with that an hour ago, but every time I’ve logged in to post it I’ve been sidetracked by another thread. :)
