jcholmstedt
Thanks Dadrian and Zaq 178. Here are some shots of my recent MV models. I be sure to post some Daytona picts and despite your well documented Daytona journey Zaq, I will probably have some questions along the way.

What scale is your Testarossa, and how on earth did you correctly paint the black part of the air intake under the white strakes of the doors?? jcholmstedt
1:25 on Crockett’s Testarossa. Very careful hand paint job on the side intakes. That car is not very forgiving with the black and white paint scheme. Least favorite part is the panel lines.
jcholmstedt
Zaq 178, Do you have a link to Jagvic’s Daytona build. I found it once before, but can’t locate it now? Thanks

ZAQ 178
Unfortunately I do not. He never posted completed photos either so I don’t know if he ever finished it.

jcholmstedt
Thanks timm525. Crockett’s Scarab model from 1986 is such a great kit! If it wasn’t so rare and expensive, I would love to do the version they used in the later seasons. (Specifically the one that Welcraft gave Don Johnson)
jcholmstedt
Here’s a progress shot of the Daytona. It brings “custom interior” to a new level in the 1:24 scale. I will try to keep posting progress picts

That car is not very forgiving with the black and white paint scheme. Least favorite part is the panel lines. Very nice work! I used to build models in high school, including cars and planes. A neighbor even paid me to build a Formula 1 model because he liked my models. It was a Lotus driven by Mario Andretti. He was a huge fan and even named his son Mario. The model was by Tamiya and I remember being so glad I didn’t have to do the panel or cut lines because the car was black. I had a steady hand but the panel lines always came out too thick. I did a really nice Ferrari 288 GTO back then and a Dino 246 Spyder. The horizontal line around the cars was easy but I never liked the door cut lines. I later learned the technique of painting the cut lines black before spraying the overall paint color, then using an exacto to cut a narrow line showing the black. If you think about it a 1/8 inch panel gap at 1/24th scale would be a line 1/192 inches wide. That’s less than two sheets of notebook paper thick!
jcholmstedt
Thanks for sharing Pahonu. No panel line stress with the Daytona, the Testarossa was such a pain. The white is not forgiving and only accepts perfect panel lines. I did trim up the black seat lines after posting the picture. Upon further review, they were too wide.lol
