Speaking of time flying. Can you believe it's 50 years ago this month that we landed on the moon?!

Funny, but for me, the more years passed stack up, the shorter (and more pleasant) they seem.

I agree.  I have been feeling way more nostalgic lately and also telling myself to enjoy each day.  I care less about what people think and I am just being me, taking nothing for granted.

Over the weekend I was going to recreate a boat scene from MV season 1 where Sonny takes the Scarab out at sunset to contemplate his relationship with a lady who is distracting him from his job.  I didn't have anyone to take the picture from the jet ski.  Dang.  Anyway, I took the jet ski out to the middle of the lake to think and be a little introspective, getting the shot below.  After that I threw on a white linen suit and enjoyed the downtown life.

That's The Right Spirit, You understand It All Steve .........Two Words Sit Down, RELAX  !

I would have liked to see you on your boat, sailing under this beautiful sunset but too bad that there is not someone to capture a picture of this magic moment :fireworks:

Maybe another Time ;)

That's very possible. But at the same time, what about the 90s is inspiring or cool? I know we had a lot of great movies, some of the last good music, the fashion was better (the early to mid-90s, not the late 90s with frost tips and horrible baggy clothes),  but it sure seems like the 1990s were quite the dull decade once you got past 1993 or '94. Not that I'm saying the 2020s won't be a '90s-inspired decade in the retro scene but it just seems weird... does that mean the 2040s will make references to this current decade?

Movies, retro video games, Game Boy, PS1, grunge music, florescent colours, Furby... Tamagotchi is already coming back. And the retro scene on NewRetroWave already has a few 90s sounding songs which have released this year.

I think it just seems weird because we already lived the 90s. :) And yes I suppose so, in the 2040s people who are just kids now will be grown up and have nostalgia over the 2010s. Scary.

i sincerely hope Miami luxury residences interiors will be better in next decade. because i've been looking at some luxury houses on Youtube, and it all looks like GTAO apartments you know. totally sanitized, glossy, super clean looking, and cold. in one word dumb. where are No exit red house, uncle Lao li amazing house, Castillo wood house. why only thing it seems they build nowadays is dumb stuff. has it to do with the rich. does these people have a microbian phobia, or maybe a complex about all this lol

I hope that the 2020s will be great and I do look forward to them, BUT I can't help but have a bleak outlook on things. I believe politics will become far dirtier as time goes on. The rights we have here in America I think will become more limited I.e. first and second amendments. As far as media goes, I think we will continue to get more "woke" reboots and rehashes of beloved franchises. Hopefully Miami Vice does not fall victim to this.

Agreed. I want to be optimistic but sometimes it's scary seeing the way things are going.

Thanks pal! I'm going to get active again. Sadly Vice has been somewhat pushed aside with my life getting busy in all kinds of ways. Gotta make time for what you love.

there's one thing i'm sure about it's that the 2020s will be the most unguessable decade of my entire life. as Miami wayfarer stated it seems things are just getting worse everyday. you think, you saw it all, and another s.. pops out from nowhere. i sincerely do not know what all this will give birth to. the worst, or the better

I for one am so damn tired of everything about life being controlled through a cell phone.  90% of tv commercials I see have something to do with a cell phone. Whether it's starting your car, controlling the lights in your home, answering the front door or checking what's in your refrigerator. (yeah, that's right, saw a commercial for a smart fridge!)  People need to lift their heads from their phones and see there's a real world out there.  I often wonder just what everyone would do if it all crashes!

I told my wife if she brings home a google mini, I'll smash it!

Yep, it's all about assisted thinking nowadays. Nobody remembers any route, cause there is gps navigation, no one is able to keep a phone number without saving digitally, some young folks don't even know anymore that a lexicon is based on alphabetical order, cause there's Google and reflecting a long day in the evening got replaced by scrolling down the feed on facebook. But it's on us to regain control about our lives by taking away the smartphone now and then.

Politically I share your opinion, guys. The outlook just doesn't look good. I can't see the light-hearted carefreeness of the 80s returning anytime soon, at least no trend indicates that. Anyway, in terms of music and movies it can't get worse anymore, so there might be hope. ;)

In terms of fashion I am happy to see more colors again lately, especially for men's sport jackets. :)

Count me out! I'm old school and proud of it!  I've had a smart phone for about 2 years now (not my choice) and have yet to add a single app.  Don't want to, don't need to and definitely don't know how to.  To me apps are what you order before your meal.

I don't have an hour and a half to listen to this whole podcast. The first 10 minutes was enough.  Pardon my language, but that's some scary shit!

I was 10 in 1984 when this came out. The thought of that thing being real and chasing you endlessly until it killed you was terrifying. Oddly enough I was watching this movie again last night and to me that thought is just as terrifying today.

the AI logical is pretty implacable. i saw a documentary once where there were testing a car AI in several situations. and among the different situations there was one where the AI had no other choice than to kill a human. and it had the choice between a male adult, and a little girl. without hesitating the AI chose to kill the girl. simply because its calculations lead to the resutl that the man had much more chances to survive.

so yeah, a world where the AI suddenly decides that the human is harmful, and that it should be eradicated at all costs is not totally impossible lol. even though, i think that era is not for tomorrow :)

What drives me crazy are the jobs cut. Ai to drive a car is bearable because its just one function. The things get worst when the ai does multiple functions and any bot can perform better than the best professional specialist in the field. If ppl will lose the jobs who will pay to buy a service or product? Sometimes i think it will take us to a revolution / walking dead / apocaliptic scenario.

agreed. but i think where the AI won't be able to replace humans. it's to make hand made, high quality, highly durable products. which will slowly become the norm. but yeah we are living into an era where everything is changing. i think the old world like we saw in the 50s, or the 80s will never come back. we are on the road to a major change.. i think

Creators in the 80s anticipated the vision of a dystopic future, for example shown in the Terminator, Back to the future 2, Robocop, Blade Runner etc. Looks like it becomes at least partially real, with a delay of a few decades though.

i'm 40+, and i've never been in a situation where the future has been so uncertain. i mean on a societal level. in France we had the gilets jaunes. something we didn't see since the 1789 revolution. now there's no money in the governement bank, we have a huge debt, and when the governement tries something about the pensions, it triggers huge (really huge) strikes across the country. it seems we just need a spark for everything to explode (i hope it's a wrong feeling of mine..)

and when i look at other countries around the world, it seems the mess has just become viral
