I believe it was and that was the same seaplane in the opening credits (N2969) and the one that’s wing eventually fell off and killed everyone aboard thus grounding Chalks and dooming them forever. More on that —> here As I recall reading the NTSB reports at the time, the pilot’s husband also worked for Chalks as a Captain and they had both complained numerous times before about safety and maintenance concerns on those aging planes. Further testing on the rest of those Mallards showed the same metal fatigue on those wings too due to the thousands of water landing during their career. All were a ticking time bomb and a death trap waiting to happen. That contributed to the bankruptcy and closing of them, forever.
