Brenda
Sorry if this question has appeared here before but after 12 hours spent at work today :/ I'm too tired to browse through the whole forum. Still, I wonder if someone has counted how many times Sonny used that "I'll clear my desk of all my other cases and will make your life one miserable hell" phrase. I remember at least two instances, slightly differing in each case but I guess there were more of them. Just curious...
MrsEvanFreed
I think it was 'I got you babe' Yes.Oooh that's a good one Brenda, I have no idea. Perhaps CB might know or one of the other veteran forum members.
Brenda
I've just remembered and checked yet another "I'm gonna clear my desk..." threat quotation, so there are at least three of them! Anyone?
Pandina
The first that comes to my mind (and probably the only one that I know ) is Crockett to Vincent De Marco in One Eyed Jack.
Brenda
Correct! "Either Carrow's equipment is back in his garage by this afternoon or I clear my desk of all my other cases and dedicate my waking hours to making your life one miserable hell."But there are at least two more! "If the lieutenant dies, I'm gonna clear my desk of all my other cases and I'm gonna spend all my waking hours making sure that you fry for the murder of a cop."And there's one more in Season Two

Brenda
 You're right: "You tell your boss to get us that information and phone it in to this number. Tell him not to make me get a warrant now. Because that'll make me mad and then I'm gonna clear my desk of all my other cases and make his life one living hell for the next six months."But there is at least one more! :D:D The "Christine von Marburg episode" was in season three and the clue I gave you was season two. Scarab KV
The episode "The Great McCarthy" was loosely written about exploits in the early days of offshore racing, with references to the Bimini race, boats that never came back and contraband smuggled in the race boats on the return leg. Who can tell me the name of the offshore legend the episode was titled in homage to?
Sonny-Burnett
I had to do a little hunting on this one, as I am not up to speed on power boat racing and found this article: http://www.bananaboatco.com/companyheritage.htm If Charlie McCarthy is the guy, I never realized The Great McCarthy was (apparently) a reference to a past great in the industry. You would be correct The episode was written with a lot of fiction based on fact. Unlike today's circle racing, the early days of offshore was true offshore racing. Miami to Bimini, Bimini to a marker buoy 80 miles in the middle of no where and back to Miami. No GPS or Lowrance. Navigation was by chart, compass and stop watch. A couple degrees off over an hour and they're out of fuel. Most of the time these guys were racing on a proving ground platform to sell their product, so break downs or even a broken hull were not out of the question. Hanging off the back of the boat to change a prop in shark infested waters or bouncing around in the bilge in six foot swells was the norm. Some guys never made it back, others came back with broken ankles, arms or backs. Charlie broke his neck at one point over the years. There's an old running joke about some of the boats being slower coming back then heading out, even though they were light on fuel by then. (heavy pay load) I met with Charlie at the Miami show last week. He heads up an organization called HORBA (Historic Offshore Race Boat Association) that works to preserve and restore the iconic boats from back in the day. He asked that I register Star 2 with HORBA, because he felt that it has historic significance to the sport. To say the least, I was honored that he asked and honored to stand with two of the most iconic figures in the sport. Charlie is the little guy on my left and Bobby Saccenti (the man with the magic throttle arm) on my right.
