Well I am thouroughly disgusted with the video. I can understand someone making fun of us geeks (so to speak) but to ruin a bus tour and be that kind of an ass and to the depth that he took it. Fun is fun...but you have to know when to quit. It's toilet humour anyway..................same crap Howard Stern pulls all the time.Quite frankly the people on the bus I commend for being so patient as If I was there I would have dragged his ass off the bus by the earloab with him screaming that he doesn't want to be touched. He would DEFINITELY have a sore ear after I finished with him.

I would not have been happy if I was on the bus, hanging with fellow vicers, sharing stories, and fun memories, only to have this guy causing problems at our expense.I PMed Rick (Nash3333), hoping he would give us some stories about the experience. Hope he responds.

Yeah I guess.

You know the odd thing Lou, When that guy did the same thing to STAR TREK fans in another video, ...I laughed when he refered to the fans as virgins and stuff. I thought it was funny. I like Star Trek TNG, and I still laughed, but when he did it to VICE fans, ...It just didn't seem funny.Strange, eh? ?(

Jake ByrdOk, I've received several PM messages, so let me relate the story as best I can. The morning of the bus tour, which EJ had gone to great lengths to set up, a TV crew approached her, and said they were from one of the networks (NBC I think). They showed credentials, and said they had been in town for the RNC convention, and were staying in our hotel when they heard about our meeting. They wanted to know if they could film our tour for a "filler" piece. Of course she said okay. At the same time, Jake Byrd was upstairs paying (me) for his seat on the tour bus. We had no idea they were all together. The first 30 minutes of the tour were fine, and it took that long for "Jake" to start to do his act. Up until that point all was fine. EJ and her husband Peter were doing all they could to keep him quiet, and let us all enjoy the tour. My wife and I (Pam) were in the back of the bus, and she kept telling me to let Peter handle it, and it wasn't a big problem.Byrd acted like a tool for about another 1/4 hours til we got to the beach, and we all unloaded to walk down Collins Ave (the art deco area)...that's when you see me get put on camera. By they way, it was never said I was the "tour guide" they made that up. If anyone was guiding us around...it was Phillipe..and he was doing a great job.Once we got on the beach, Byrd staring pressing EJ even more, and god love here, she maintained much longer than I would have. You will see Peter and I approach him, and he starts screaming "don't touch me"...that's when the end is near. From there, he walks off the beach, and that's when you see me tell him he's not on the bus anymore, and the camera crew films me explaining why. At this point we knew he was a set-up, but I actually intended to press the cops to do something with him. However, everyone was done, and headed to the bus, so we all walked back. You'll see him trying to get back on the bus, and Peter and I stopping him. What you wont see, is him getting pushy and verbal, and Peter all but slamming him back in the crowed. Edit-ing is a wonderul thing. The other thing you have to know is, all of what you see takes place in less than two hours. After chuckle-head was gone, we went to light house point, lunch at Rusty Pelican..and toured until almost 5pm. Then that night, we had our dance (in costume), then went to a club that gave us VIP access....and the owner bought us drinks all night. In the end, I actuallly LIKE the Jake Byrd incident....I can now say I was on international TV!!The night before, he damn near went to jail for trying to hug General Wesley Clark at the Rep Nat'l Convention.Funny follow up, the next morning, Byrd was on the elevator out of character when two of our members got on with him...they recongized him.....and at some point, he was so scared, he felt he needed to tell them he'd "sue" if they touched him....I think I know which two guys they were, but I'm not sure. Doesn't matter, cause Byrd is a pansy without a camera crew around him. That all being said....best convention of my life!!!!

I have a suggestion...lets take over a Michael Jackson´s Convention....And heck...why this ******* had to choose Miami Vice?

Oh, come on... have poor Michael Jackson's fans really done anything to you? LOL ;)And he wasn't a Michael Jackson's fan anyway, just a practial joker... now I know it for sure from Nash3333's story. Thank you very much, Nash, that was very interesting! :)Well, from what I've read - maybe it wasn't a big deal after all, just another "candid camera" show... but the guy is not funny anyway.

The funny part of that is weeks later, maybe actually a couple of months, I was up at 3am to catch an early morning flight. The TV was on in the bedroom, and while I was shaving, I hear my own voice coming from the bedroom....walk in, and there it was. So when it aired, was the middle of the night, before Kimmel's show moved to an earlier slot.

I had to let this steep for a bit before responding. The guy was rude. Unfortunately, we get off on a lot of crass humor and that's just the way it is. I can't believe that the new Jackass movie made so much money out of the gate but that just serves to illustrate our cultural leanings. My first reaction was that this guy was funny, then I thought his schtick became obnoxious after a few tries. If I were EJ or any of her assistants, I would've been pretty fired up. If I were just a tour member, I probably wouldn't have figured out that this was going to be a comedy sketch and just laughed. Overall for me now, it's just kind of 'no harm done' because he didn't run up chanting "MV sucks" or I don't think he was trying to embarrass EJ. He was just being a tube steak. Interesting find, and yeah, I wonder if many from that big ol' tour still visits us. That was not easy to put together at all, I think the key is to get committed participation, but how do you gauge that? (I guess by putting down deposits?) Because a lot of my career has been in planning, I hope that Aly will clue us in sometime on how she planned and organized the 2011 event because that really takes some full-time orchestration (and aggravation).

While there are aspects of this site that are much better like not having any issues with the page loading' date=' the other site is where I started being active on any forum and still feel fondly toward it. They say you never forget your first love. [/quote']Amen to that! The other site holds tons of good memories for me as well. As for the current owners of that site, I strongly resent the fact that they took that away from me! (read my signature)

Getting back on topic (sorry) I would've loved to tune that guy up in the elevator! Judging from what Rick said all you'd have to do is hit the stop button between floors to see him wet himself!

Just so you can see what it is that he does (he has lots of these things on you tube), here he is goofing on Star Trek Fans.I thought this was kind of funny. But it wasn't funny to me when he did it to vice fans. For some reason that skit just wasn't funny. Is this funny? You be the judge. (P.S. from what I can gather, he really is a MICHAEL JACKSON fan in real life.)

Well... I can't really say I laughed my head off, but at least this time he really tried to make some jokes, not just annoyed people. :) (I liked the one about Internet porn... :) if I got it right, of course). And instead of putting Michael Jackson instead of the original topic of the convention (like he did with MV) he pretended to be a Star Trek fan too. Though IMHO he was kind of "overdoing" it, making other fans look ridiculous... but I suppose that was actually his intention. I probably wouldn't want to be in front of a microphone with him anyway (but this is just my own shyness, I suppose), but this time it was surely a little better. (And I'm not saying it just because I'm not a Star Trek fan. :D)

This video was mostly just stupid ,pointless humor. This skit was just simply not funny, and not because it poked at MV...but I will say I laughed slightly when Rick said he was going to call the police and Byrd yelled out "call Crockett and Tubbs"..I am a stickler for good humor...If I ran across this type of thing with a different subject matter I would have lost interest inside of 15 seconds and turned my attention elsewhere....

To Coop & Cheetah.........This guy is just as annoying to the Star Trek fans as to the MV ones. Doyou see the looks they give him & remarks? What makes TV shows hire fools like him & call it humor or entertainment?MY vote :thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

That's what I felt like too. :) :thumbsup:To Tony D.: I completely agree that Jake Bird was annoying for people in both cases. In fact, I believe that all (or at least most of) practical jokers are, it's inevitable. I just meant that at least on the second video he (or maybe his crew) tried to use a little imagination (and to show a little more respect by pretending to be a fan), instead of just repeating the same annoying and senseless thing again and again. Though (from what I've seen) it's difficult for me to imagine someone watching his show on a daily basis anyway...

"Star Trek" or "Miami Vice" he's still an @$$hole! Does anyone else think that maybe he does this cause he was booted out by Michael Jackson fans?
