ArtieRollins
Even though I am an child of the 90s, the 80s and early 90s music has somehow always stayed with me and have that special nostalgic feel that no other decade comes close to.

ArtieRollins
Swans sure had some brutal records in the 80s but at same time where able to create some real fragile beauties.Sadly some of their fanbase still seems to have a grudge towards Jarboe, as she was some kind of Yoko-One she-devil that corrupted the bands original raw and noisy sound from the early days as they ended up doing more experimental and melodic music in the later years. viceystyle
Hey guys, thanks for these. Lots of songs I had never heard before. That's the thing, is that over the years I've "discovered" so much 80s music, but there's still yet uncharted territory. It feels nice to hear a great song for the first time.
viceystyle
Here's something from one of those hair bands, it's from 1990, which was still 80s. This had that sound that is distinctly 80s and also they have the hair metal sound as well. Of course, I despise most of those glam/hair bands like Poison and Ratt and Motley Crue and wouldn't touch them or their music with a fifty-foot pole. They made awful stuff, and were an ugly part of the era. But there were actually a few hair bands that made music that was quite good, like this one, and had a sound I really like. viceystyle
I remember the first time I heard this song. It was over five years ago, driving on the highway on a sunny afternoon, and this came on the radio. I'd never heard anything like it before. I didn't know what it was called at the time, and spent the next few days trying to find it again on the internet. What a brilliant commentary on society. Peter Gabriel is one of the best artists of that era.

vatdim
A great track to remind us of the late 80's amazing new jack swing: Bobby Brown - Don't Be Cruel.I wish this genre and the tan suit fashion had survived the Grunge. :-)

Sonny-Burnett
Glenn Frey (1988) "True Love" Out of the blue, out of the night You came along and you changed my life You got me feeling things, I swear I never felt before You looked at me, that's all it took You read my heart like an open book Well, it was true love- right from the start True love- straight from my heart True love- ain't no doubt about it, baby True love- now I can't live without it Before I met you baby, I was alone Thought I was happy livin' on my own But now I realize this world was made for two, like me and you With you by my side, everything's fine There ain't no mountain, sugar, we can't climb We got a true love- that's all we need True love- it's got a lifetime guarantee True love- so hard to find True love- put your heart on the line now True love- makes every day a little brighter True love- makes every burden just a little lighter True love- it'll make you be a better man If you had true love, you'd understand Out of the blue, out of the night You came along and you changed my life You got me feeling things, I swear I never felt before You lift me up, you make me strong You give me lovin' lastin' all night long When it's a true love- right from the start True love- straight from my heart True love- need you here beside me baby True love- need your love to guide me True love- I can't deny this feelin' no no matter how hard I try I just know what I feel, and it's a true love She's my baby, she's my girl She changed my life, oh, she changed my world She's my buttercup, oh, fill me up Talkin' about love, talkin' about love, it's gotta be a true love Edited April 23, 2016 by Sonny-Burnett
Sonny-Burnett
From 1988: "Soul Searchin'" The time is coming to do some soul searchin' No more running, no more bridges burnin' The time is comin' for you and me To take a look inside, no matter what we see Let's do some soul searchin', just you and me Our lives are changin', this old world keeps turnin' And I sit here wondering what we're really learnin' I know you're just a woman, I'm just a man Let's be true to each other, do the best we can Let's do some soul searchin', soul searchin' Some soul searchin', soul searchin' Let's do some soul searchin', just you and me There's a big train rollin', big train rollin' I can hear it hummin', hear it hummin' But the river is risin', river is risin' And the rain keeps comin', rain keeps comin' It's time to get onboard, before we're washed away It's time to leave behind some things from yesterday Let's do some soul searchin', soul searchin' Little bit of soul searchin', soul searchin' Let's do some soul searchin', just you and me Come and talk to me The time is comin', you know the time is comin' To do some soul searchin', do some soul searchin' No more runnin', they'll be no more runnin' No more bridges burnin', no more bridges burnin' It's time for every woman and every man Build a new world together, workin' hand in hand It's time to stop pretendin' that you're somebody else You know you can't change this world, but you can change yourself Let's do a little soul searchin', soul searchin' Little bit of soul searchin', soul searchin' Let's do some soul searchin', just you and me We're gonna take a look inside, forget our foolish pride It's time to search our soul yeah, search our souls And make a good thing whole Soul searchin', soul searchin', soul searchin'
ArtieRollins
Stacey Q, a total 80s babe with a great voice. She and SSQ seemed to be popping up in almost every teen-sex comedy or horror flick back in the 80s, yet somehow they never really got their breakthrough. I guess thats one of the reasons why their debut album Playcback (1983) never were given a proper CD release.
summer84
I can listen to almost any genre and or decade, if it sounds good to me, but my preference is 80's music and Pop music/genre. Though, I have listened to alot of different 90's music being born in that decade and the 00's (not sure, what to call it really.) But the best decade to me is the 80's, no doubt. And so I found this rare music from Karla Devito, an unknown singer to me. Discovered from "The Breakfast Club" playlist. It's not bad. Karla Devito. Her first promotional video, it says. And this one from "The Breakfast Club."
ArtieRollins
I have always had a thing for 80s music videos, where a hot babe is "playing" a saxophone, sadly these two are the only ones I can remember at the moment: Hot 'n Steamy sax-solo arrives at 02:46-03:02 And the winner, where the sax-solo clocks in at around 02:03-02:33
