First thing that jumps right out at me is where is the Porky's trilogy from the 80's. Porky's links to the 60's as well as the interior of Porky's was filmed at Jilly's (Jilly Rizzo's place, friend of the Rat Pack and next door to Dean Martin's place) which was used in the Frank Sinatra movie, Lady In Cement. So we first see Porky's bar in Lady in Cement!

yep, but it was shot 1983 before VICE, not 1985. DJ had a mustache in this movie that looked rather weird.

Anyone watching Magic City, a show set in 1959 Miami with elements of gangland crime, prostitution, drugs and the influence of the criminal underworld? It's on Starz and the second season is starting this fall. Am interested in whether they may be using former Vice locations, for example, Ben Diamond's palatial residence looks familiar to me but can't place it.

Miami Undercover

Really interesting, watched the entire thing. I don't remember this TV show but it has a number of good Miami scenes.

Anyone know where this house from Chains of Gold with John Travolta and Marilu Henner has appeared before. It looks familiar and is most likely on Star Island. Thanks,

that house was also in Wild Things.

Thanks Tom. It was not in The Specialist or Bad Boys I. May have been in Vice. The ceiling reminds me of the Biltmore but the exterior sure looks like Star Island. The outside shot could, of course, be a different location. I'm looking for the address of either or both. Thanks.

It's 40 Star Island seen in The Specialist and Bad Boys.

Thanks Crockettt, it looks similar but doesn't look like 40 Star to me. But I'm not the greatest location detective and will take another look. I think its likely the inside shots were filmed in Madonna's house in Vice's Hostile Takeover. The ceiling, fireplace and doorway seem to match. What do you think?

DJ and Sins of South BeachJust finished reading 'Sins of South Beach' a book by Alex Daoud that is scheduled to be turned into a Miami Beach movie next year. Good read, it names names. Daoud was the only three time elected Miami Beach mayor who served from 85 to 91 and was one of the most colorful and corrupt politicians in S. Fla history. He did a lot to help revive SoBe nightlife and was a huge Miami Vice supporter. He gave the cast free parking permits, special police badges etc. Ironically the Mayor had a cameo appearance in 'Fruit of the Poison Tree.' Do you know which character he played? Daoud was convicted of accepting bribes, tax evasion, and jury tampering. (I love my town) This linked video and photos with DJ are from Daoud's web site www.sinsofsouthbeach.com.link: http-~~-//s125.photobucket.com/albums/p76/miamijimf/?action=view&current=SinsofSouthBeachVideos.mp4

Mayor of Miami Beach Alex Daoud made a cameo appearance in Fruit of the Poison Tree as the judge in the second trial of Enriquez. Here is a screen cap. He will probably do so again in the new movie Sins of South Beach, which is his story. In his book he claims to have also appeared in To Have and To Hold but I don't see him.

This might be a good movie for C Glide's site. Band of the Hand, a Michael Mann produced Vice offshot with a cast full of Vice actors
