miamijimf
The Art Director of Burn Notice told me he and several people who worked on the show were Miami Vice fans. Some even worked on Vice. There is little doubt that the lips and similarities in characters, locations, plot elements, dialogue etc were a deliberate nod to Vice. Vice was the show that started it all and inspired another action/drama/detective type show in Miami.
Kavinsky
The one that always sticks out to me is when Stan gets into a drunken bar fight while wearing Sonny's Clothes from Season 1, cant remember the episode name, think its from S4 or S5 but it looks so close to that Tucan style outfit he wears in Smugglers Blues I half wonder if they were reusing the wardrobe from S1 for that, and also theirs one in season 5, Fruit of the Poison Tree where the bad guy gets knocked into oil wearing I swear is Sonny's outfit from Out Where The busses dont run like I half wonder if that's why Coop hasnt been able to get it for all these years lol Edited April 2, 2020 by Kavinsky
Dadrian
Tubbs wears this shiny silk Hugo Boss suit a lot in season 3, but Morales also wears it once in “Killshot”. I wanna say at least one other villain wears it in another episode, too, but I can’t recall what episode(s)/season(s).

summer84
Some have probably noticed the pink phone in "Phil the Shill" and "French Twist." Phil on the phone with his pal Cindy. Dadrian
We first see this shirt on DeMarco when he’s about to sign the papers to help Vice nail Lombard. Here it is at Gen. Lao Li’s house as he warns his people to break no laws.

After “Baby Blues” from Season 3 they then used to using real hospitals around the Miami area - starting with “Theresa” then “Knock Knick...Who’s There?” through the end of the series. Many different hospitals were used.
