What Are You Listening To Right Now?

On UB40’s 1983 cover of Neil Diamond’s “Red Red Wine” I always notice the same DX7 sound from the melody of “Crockett’s Theme” just before and during the chorus.

The DX7 was everywhere in the 80s, and you hear many many of the same patches in many many songs, but to my knowledge, these are the only two songs that used that sound.

Anyone?

Side note: that video has 182M views to date, and the top comment is: “If you were 1 when this song was released, UB40 now”

:) :)

Nice cans @Marc! Like them so far?

yeah amazing, I'm using public transport to get to work and finding they cancel everything and keep my ears warm. :p sound performance is really good, they're twice as expensive as any headphones i've used previously. would strongly recommend. aesthetically pleasing and fit well too.

Ahh The Police guitarist :hippie:

A great musician, and he seems like a really cool guy.

I enjoy his score for “Weekend at Bernie’s”—a classic 80s cheesy comedy.

This is a very cool track. Thanks for sharing!

Its so interesting how the 80s was somehow the decade of the fantasizing about the future.

Maybe that was the time when the tech boom really started to happen, with Laserdisc,VHS, Cellular Telephone, digital synth era also began at the time. A lot of new things, a revolution that made ppl dream about  possible future visions

remember dancing to this one as a kid. I've a vague memory of it being sampled as a tv show theme.. all the comments on the video mention Brian May on guitar.

Any band called Living in a Box that had a song called “Living in a Box” on an album called Living in a Box is okay with me! :)  :)  :)
